Which one do we think will be the third (fourth) single?

They're the most likely songs to become the probably final single of the era, with either of them having I imagine a tour footage music video.

HBDYW is a very popular non-single and very much a traditional pop song which Gaga hasn’t had in a while. Then VIY is a very much fan fave but still GP friendly song, and probably the most memorable and definitive performance of the tour show.

So which one do we think will probably be the inevitable final single with a tour music video?

I think the likelihood of the next single goes: Vanish Into You > Garden Of Eden > HBDUWM

We haven't gotten more than 3 main singles since Born This Way so I doubt we'll get any more than that, I'm betting on VIY simply based on the physical album's hype sticker (and hopefully it comes before 2026 at this point LOL)

The Fame Monster

I didn’t like Vanish Into You at all when the album was released. I didn’t even have it uploaded to my music library. What changed it all was seeing and hearing Gaga performing it live. She’s so special for managing to make me love her music even more when she performs it live. The same happened with The Beast and Happy Mistake.

I would choose Vanish Into You for the next single over HBDUWM.

Will we get one? Someone pointed out that the longest gap between Gaga singles was 3 and a half months. Abra was released first week of February, so by that logic we should get one this May. June by the latest unless there wont be anymore..

I think it will be "Vanish Into You", but I voted HBDUWM anyways, to feed my delusions :vegas:. "Vanish Into You" was intended as a single even before the album was out, she might even have a concept for the music video, "How Bad Do U Want Me" was almost left out of Mayhem, they're not on the same position :laughga:

HBDUWM doing bigger numbers on streaming platforms was probably a surprise for her team, IF it becomes a single, it'll be the last one I guess. I do think "Garden Of Eden" and "Vanish Into You" are priorities for her, as of today.

HBDYWM should’ve been sold to Taylor Swift. :ohwell:

The only post-album single we’ve gotten since 2011 is G.U.Y. - considering the industry has only moved more in that direction and toward fewer singles since, I really don’t think we’ll get another official single, esp considering DWAS is still holding well on multiple Radio formats and Abracadabra is still growing on Pop. There’s no upside.

All tours since BTW have started after the singles ended so I don’t see MAYHEM being different. Even when Joanne got a significant boost from the tour and doc, they didn’t release another single.

I’m still expecting another (real) MV: G.U.Y., John Wayne and Joanne (PV), and 911 all came months after the albums and all (except G.U.Y.) were standalone videos.

If it’s a tour video, I say don’t bother. VIY deserves an epic music video of Gaga singing atop a cliff side overlooking the ocean.

And she’s literally never released a tour video even when songs like “Gypsy” seemed perfectly suited to that kind of visual. If it didn’t happen for ARTPOP or Joanne, it’s not happening for MAYHEM.

Right, but we’ve technically already gotten 3 (DWAS, Disease, Abra) from an A&R perspective. These are 3 tracks from MAYHEM that have been promoted and helped push its sales.

Hype stickers don’t always correlate to single releases: some are just initial highlights or in some cases, they might have been planned singles. Had DWAS not been added, there’d certainly be a big gap on HAC/AC Radio for a VIY type of single.

I might be totally wrong in these expectations, and I hope I am because I’d love to get more singles. I’m just trying to stay realistic.

The only function of a single is to rack up radio and streaming numbers. As best I can tell HBDYWM is the most crowd pleasing record on Mayhem.

Strategically, it makes sense to release it to radio.

I think Vanish Into You appeals mostly to the classic Gaga fans who also liked Abracadabra. But we've seen that audience is not big enough or streaming focused enough to make a song smash in the U.S.

If I'm the record exec, I go HBDYWM. Not because I think it's better. But because it's the best candidate for the job.

VIY deserves to be a hit, and HBDUWM is most likely to be a hit.

So I would release VIY first, then HBDUWM. If VIY does well, great. If it doesn’t do well, no worries because then HBDUWM can be released later on to end the era with a guaranteed hit.

At first I was lukewarm on VIY but it’s a serious grower and now my fave song on the album. That will help it become a Gaga classic hit.

Also at first I hated how HBDUWM sounded like Taylor, but you know what if it gets Gaga a new hit with a new audience, what the hell sure.

I also think these are her best 2 choices. Originally I wanted GOE and Zombieboy as singles but those songs don’t appeal to anyone new or do anything better than Abra.

agree with all this. i think a single is less likely but a video for sure bc the virality of a gaga video could push tour sales
