Maybe because the music is not good. And his marketing team is atrocious. I haven't seen any waves regarding his new 'era'.

Maybe the public is finally waking up to how formulaic and basic his music is? It's so calculated how he makes songs to appeal to different communities all over the world to guarantee a hit there (New York, Galway Girl, Nancy Mulligan, Tenerife Sea, Barcelona, Bibia Be Ye Ye, South Of The Border, Take Me Back To London, Peru, The Hills Of Aberfeldy, England). Now he's got Azizam in the Persian language. I actually saw a comment reading "this will be played at every Persian wedding until the end of time." And I think that's entirely his aim. It's so predictable to the point I think people are finally seeing through it. He was once talking about making an album with J Balvin as well. He always jumps on trends and uses community spirit to get hits and it's really tone deaf in this day and age to be so obvious.

The reason we're not seeing major promo is because it was likely assumed that he could just drop a song and it would be a hit as he's that powerful. Which is also why his album was announced boldly 4 months before release, to really build up to massive opening week sales. But by the looks of it, people might be uninterested by the time it comes out.

This fills me with so much happiness. Gaga thriving while Sheeran sinking into the abyss of eternal darkness. :firega:

Its crazy how artists that got famous from 2008 to 2012 era was a massive wave of huge artists that had longer lasting careers than most artists from other eras... a huge percentage of big artists actually lasted a good while

But suddenly all around the same time they started to flop with the exeption of Gaga and Taylor Swift :enigma:

as it should bestie, as the propecy said, it is written in the holy scriptures!

wow i really wonder if Gaga ever felt unwelcomed in the industry given these high profile industry ppl like him or or the art police shading her like this, im so happy she's now UNDENIABLE. Makes me think how new acts like Chappel or billie have received nothing but love by other contemporaries, criticisms only mainly being directed from the public...

Literally. I need MJ to come down right now and vindicate our girl & put everybody else in their play pens. Come correct when talking about Gaga. She is operating at a level 100% of these mainstream artists, male or female will never achieve or have the intellect to accomplish.

Driving to Graceland with my Ouija Board for an interview as we speak.

Edit: I confused Neverland with Graceland, I'm sure Elvis is a gaga fan too though, so it's fine.

I'm genuinely shocked that Azizam flopped as hard as it has. I thought it was such a bland and short song that was bound to be a hit and would easily hit #1 in the UK at least, like so many of his previous mediocre songs have done. Ed just needs to breathe here and it goes #1 based on sheer name recognition and being generic and British. Ok, it peaked at #3 which is still great and all but his lead singles usually always go #1 here, it's just the way it is. So to see it denied the top was a surprise. Now to hear that Old Phone isn't making the same waves either and it's crazy to suddenly realise that Ed could be on the cusp of his first ever flop era. But then I realised...

This could well be his third consecutive flop era. His last big album was = in 2021 and after that, he really fell off commercially. His acoustic album, -, barely sold and didn't go anywhere. Then there was Autumn Variations, which didn't even have singles or a tour. It may have just been a "side album" of sorts but it was a complete album and it's Ed Sheeran but it did so badly that I'm surprised if most of the public didn't even realise he had an album out. The UK is the only country that truly takes notice of his new releases these days. Now the lead single off his first big pop album in years has underperformed massively and the follow up single not looking good either and it's like, are Ed's glory days over? Of course he'll still sell out stadiums, as he's still currently doing but that's just because he's reached legacy act status, not because of current hits. But why are all those people not buying his music? It'll be interesting to see how well a mainstream pop album performs from him now.

Honestly I feel like Ed Sheeran while massive in the UK is heavily reliant on promo. Which I don't really remember for Autumn Variations or -.

Like he's not had a visible dedicated fan base since his early days. I couldn't name anyone I know who is an Ed Sheeran fan.

The GP like him, but don't necessarily follow him and care about him. They just know he makes GP friendly music and so when a song gets strong playlisting etc he takes off.

Which explains why Autumn Variations was a quiet era because in all fairness he didn't push it heavily from what I can remember. Certainly nothing compared to Bad Habits/Shivers as singles for the last big album era he had.

And there's just been no visible build up this era for him. No major performances where the GP might see him etc. Which explains why he's seeming vulnerable suddenly imo.
