Nemo 4,276
Thirty years ago this week -- and thirteen years before Katy Perry's more problematic song of the same title -- Jill Sobule released "I Kissed a Girl", which Variety says "is widely considered the first openly gay-themed song to crack the Billboard Top 20". And this week, unexpectedly... she's dead. She was on tour, and posting jokes on Facebook, just a few days ago. https://variety.com/2025/music/news/jill-sobule-i-kissed-a-girl-dead-1236384525/ https://www.facebook.com/janewiedlin/posts/pfbid0yPCTHuoJRqnj72DMHFCYfv4GsnMdEMWdtaw4RTbY3Zz27Hb69LtmvRy63fb4zJ7Hl https://www.facebook.com/cyndilauper/posts/pfbid0dbwoVefk4qzzSVbVQ8q8JxzAN4ep2xEK4epdsrxpXqUQpLCH9GioPfB6JKkQar4ml

vmpiregrn 869
What a horrific way to go. I pray she succumbed to smoke inhalation as opposed to the much more violent and terrible alternative…Rest in peace.
