Charli XCX, Rina Sawayama, & More Signs Open Letter In Support Of UK Trans Community

The letter was created in response to the Supreme Court’s ruling on April 16, which defined a woman by biological sex only and deemed that a person with a Gender Recognition Certificate (GRC) in the female gender “does not come within the definition of a woman under the Equality Act 2010.” 

“The UK music industry is a vibrant, diverse landscape that thrives on creativity and inclusivity,” the letter reads. “We have long celebrated a multitude of voices and identities, and the music industry here in the UK is one of our most trailblazing and culturally vital assets – one which trans, intersex and non-binary people are woven into in every aspect of the industry, past, present and future. We must now urgently work to ensure that our trans, non-binary, and intersex colleagues, collaborators, and audiences are protected from discrimination and harassment in all areas of the industry – whether in studios, at venues, in offices, or at festivals.”

Among those who have signed the letter are Charli XCX, Jade, Rina Sawayama, Jessie Ware, Self Esteem and Wolf Alice, along with a wide range of executives, publicists, managers, journalists and other industry professionals.

I'd say things are looking pretty bad in the UK in general - Nigel Flopage is back and winning despite being a laughing stock not that long ago - presumably Reform is just gonna serve as a replacement for the conservative party 

Why can't the little guys win for once, and why the FUCC do we keep loosing to such pathetic unremarkable losers
