mamo 18,477 Posted yesterday at 02:18 PM Share Posted yesterday at 02:18 PM (edited) I know charts "don't matter" but I still can't believe it didn't at least crack the Billboard Top 10...what a MASSIVE slip-up on Interscope's part. This literally should have gone to No.1 and I'll forever be mad idc. Gaga finally had a potential SOTY and ROTY winner (after losing out on Poker Face, Shallow, Die With A Smile) and I genuinely feel like they fumbled it again tbh. She deserves so much better. Edited yesterday at 02:23 PM by mamo you can serve it to me ancient city style...
Charmz 4,134 Posted yesterday at 02:23 PM Share Posted yesterday at 02:23 PM Should have had a physical release cd maxi with 10 remixes and a bside in my opinion Always & Forever, 🧚🏻♂️🦉CHARMZ🦉🧚🏻♂️ 2

Abra just released at the time of very high competition (then the superbowl came 1 week after), Abra debut was 174 points after a full tracking week, it would be enough for a top 5 easily if it released a bit later. To put things in perspective the current #3 has 172 points, if Abra released today it would be #3. My point is, Abra is a much bigger US hit than the peak suggests, and staying on the top 30 after 12 weeks is impressive. The melody that you choose can rescue you 1 1

I just think we unfortunately live in a time where those kind of stats don't matter as such and only a single digit number does. Not to compare but this really should have been her "Flowers" moment but the push just wasn't there. I'm happy for DWAS but Abracadabra was neglected heavily imo. Where on Earth were the physicals? Also by the time radio started adding it to their rotations, it was too late. Maybe I'm just salty because I want Gaga to finally win a Grammy in the general field categories. Especially after how positively and well received Abracadabra was. This should have been her victory sweep imo. FrederickSpears 2,078 Posted yesterday at 02:58 PM Share Posted yesterday at 02:58 PM This song is still a big hit! But I completely agree with the comments that the label/team fumbled. We should have gotten physical copies (add some signed physical copies too) and this would have gone higher on the charts. Still a big hit and I'm so glad because Gaga deserves it

RochestrMonstr 2,835 Posted yesterday at 07:18 PM Share Posted yesterday at 07:18 PM I really don’t think missing the top ten on the Hot 100 will hurt Debra’s Grammy chances.
Lord Mayhem 12 Posted yesterday at 07:20 PM Share Posted yesterday at 07:20 PM The way Abra didn't get more physical formats and remixes to send it to #1...i still believe the cultural impact speaks for itself. Mind you...even Bad Romance never got #
