Gaga and Katy Perry- Was there ever a real feud?

I've been following Gaga since 2008, and my general impression is that Gaga does not and has not actively liked Katy. I think she saw what most people are seeing -- that Katy is very fake and not that talented nor artistically intelligent. They had exchanged jabs for years, but nothing was ever really conclusive until the Kesha court documents leaked. To me, that's the most solid evidence we have that Gaga has been the bigger person (usually) and tolerated Katy -- maybe even been polite to her -- but she generally does not like her. 

Katy, honestly, probably doesn't like Gaga either. I think it's a bit naive to take her public comments about Gaga literally. I think it truly aggravates Katy that Gaga is seen as a true artist and Katy is not. Plus, given the Stevie Nicks rivalry comments, I believe Katy has at times believed she can punch Gaga out of the game, so to speak.

Was there ever a feud? I wouldn't call it that. Neither is going out of their way to publicly devote time to dragging the other. But there is at best indifference and at worst animosity between the two.

I feel that Katy is a sarcastic, condescending and hypocritical person so I don't doubt that during the ARTPOP era perhaps there have been comments heard behind the scenes from her that Gaga didn't like, we don't know what happens in Hollywood but it should tell you something that Kesha, nor Taylor (although they have settled their differences which seemed false and ingenuine to me) dont get along with her

Besides the Kesha thing, Alejandro video jab and  Ive lost count of how many times Katy Perry has praised Gaga on twitter and Gaga never ever acknowledges her back nor has she ever given a public compliment back

 

So yeah, I also believe Gaga doesnt like Katy that much even if she never publicly said it. The closest she ever came to major shade was the green hair and mechanical horses comment and I cant think of anything else

 

Tbh I respect Gaga for keeping it private rather than making a public smear to get PR

Why is that even a thing? Like why would anyone support someone just because of their sexual orientation? Cause it’s dumb af and that’s on them  Like would you support Gaga less if she was just straight? Or would you like Beyoncé more if she was bi or a lesbian?

Thank you for this insight and why I made this thread, because I don't follow/know as much as others do on social media about artists and this helps give me a better understanding.

Reading that they're staying in the same hotel for their Mexico shows atm took me back to all the times Katy tweeted @ Gaga and Gaga not acknowledging her, I guess Katy was trying to present herself as the bigger person after that desposition leaked. Gaga just tweeted about it one time and that it but Katy kept manufacturing a friendship that just wasn't there, and to her credit Gaga has kept up appearances by staying somewhat cordial to her despite Katy playing a part in her mental breakdown (not saying she did anything but by association to that case the whole thing could've been very traumatizing to deal with the aftermath) but now i wonder if they're gonna interact or mention each other in any way while in Mexico.

OT: I think Katy has very surface, face value view on feminism "when a woman successes we all succeed" kind of thing, and Gaga sees right through this from way back when they debuted. After awhile Katy just stopped bringing up Gaga unprompted, it was beginning to look just sad honestly and with gaga not mentioning katy in literal YEARS I think there's was never really a feud rather at one point there was mert to them interacting and being cordial and now there isn't, like coworkers from different departments with different vibes that's all.

I can see how at the time Gaga was becoming huge and Katy was known for her eccentrics, Katy felt threatened without being willing to understand their approaches to art and music is entirely different despite being eccentric!
