Atlas intel, the most accurate pollster in 2020 and 2024, has Pete Buttigieg in first place for the 2028 Democratic primary.

Buttigieg 28%

Harris 24%

AOC 16%

Booker 9%

Whitmer 9%

Newsom 7%

Beshear 2%

Warnock 2%

Murphy 2%

Being 3 years away from the primary it's still interesting to see what the public's sentiment is.

Oh my GOD if you type "Atlasintel (garbage poll) (garbage poll)" mods have changed it to say "garbage poll" when it's actually the most accurate :rip:

@PartySick fix this!

We're so screwed lol, the Dems have proven themselves to be unelectable by the demographic that WOULD vote for them.

Why is AOC so low? She's better than all of them combined.

REALITY

I don't think he'll run, much less be the Democratic nominee in 2028. We still got 3 years of this sh*t and a lot can happen between now and then.

That said, there are worse options imo. Ideologically speaking, he's too centre-left for me, but there are worse corporate Dems. He's also a great communicator, which is probably the most important thing. Few people care about the actual, substantive issues, just about how you can spin it to make the other side look worse. Pete, in that regard, is very good.

I suspect this is why he's on top of this poll. He is ALWAYS on TV debating right wing figures.

Although he is far from my preferred candidate, he knows what he's doing with these media appearances.

We have yet to see what a presidential race looks like without Trump. Something we haven't seen since 2012...

However, if the special, spring and midterm elections tell us anything, it's that Dems are becoming more motivated while Trumpers stay home when their God isn't on the ballot. There's a possibility that the next Republican candidate loses with much worse support than Trump. But that's all theorizing.

At this point it'll probably be an older, white man running at the top of the D ticket. Whom that may be, the h I know...

The big question is how will they make their case to Jewish and Muslim voters. The Democratic party is no longer the Obama coalition and they can no longer rely on petty promises and broad one-liners. The people are demanding action. But how will Dems unite people from polar opposites while the Republicans just have to blow their dog whistles and throw around some money? All while having to fix whatever the cheeto does in the next 3 years.

I distinctly remember this pollster changing their numbers 'cause they "felt they weren't accurate" :laughga: there was a whole dramatic conversation here about it

Also don't tell me what to do!

But I will 'cause I never meant for that to stay anyway :icant:

OT: Pete would be a fine choice :vegas: I'm still in Harris' camp until she either doesn't run or doesn't win the primary but Pete's excellent

Shes not likable, even people that support her and her policies dislike her

I don't remember that tbh. I do remember them being accurate in 2020 though. They were pretty spot on in 2024. Some people here just said "it's a right wing poll" but they're accurate!

Where are you getting this from? AOC is very relatable and likable.

She's been made the boogeyman by the right because they know she's a threat to their rhetoric.

She's probably one of the most liked politicians in the country but I will say I think she has a 0% of ever winning the presidency.

Which is ok with me 'cause as I've said before, I want congress (where the laws are written and budgets are controlled) to be full of people like her.

I definitely remember them skewing their own polls and citing "our feelings". I don't follow pollsters though so idrc either way :tony:

I think polls should be used to gauge the popularity of policies rather than politicians
