I don't mind DWS being shortened to only her verse, but if it's gonna be a short version, it should be part of a piano medley. I feel that the skeletons in zombieboy were a cute campy choice, but having them for the whole song was a bit restrictive. Of course she is not gonna have perfect vocals on her second to last song after dancing around for 2 hours. Paparazzi, Shallow, Abracadabra, Killah, Zombieboy, Perfect Celebrity, Disease were also real highlights for me. Best: ALL OF IT Least Fave: Garden of Eden, maybe because I expected more and was hoping its given a great segment if its going to be a single. The electric guitar was unnecessary, couldnt even hear it. I think the show wasn't as great from the moment she performed that song. NUTELLA 6,846 Posted April 12 Share Posted April 12 I was surprised a bunch of times. Shadow Of A Man is one of my faves from the album… but I don’t think it translated well to a live performance. The chorus is such a stimulating explosion, but 1) it is so fast-paced, 2) there are so many small details in the production & 3) there are so many overlapping vocals in the song.. that it felt impossible for her to keep up with it & do it justice. She looked so ****ing cool though. On the other hand, I’m not a Killah fan at all… but the energy in that performance was awesome. I loved those weird double-pointed hats the dancers wore. So bizarre and enjoyable to watch. I felt the same way about it on SNL- I guess I prefer the song live. Still hate the bridge though. Bronco 9,155 Posted April 12 Share Posted April 12 The Beast was my low point, but it was essentially an interlude so I wouldn't say it was bad at all. Plus it carried the narrative. Perfect Celebrity's performance was great but her vocals felt softer and I love that song for its crunch. Garden of Eden was fun but sequenced badly imo. The guitar was definitely not plugged in lol DWAS should have been done as a medley with something else since Bruno wasn't there for his solo. Pokerface got probably its best ever performance. I loved the 80s rock show vibe she brought to How Bad Do U Swift Me. It was cute, euphoric and would be so much fun on tour. I cried at Paparazzi.
