Is Viagogo reliable?

According to what I read on their website, they make sure the tickets are official and sellers don't receive their money until the buyer has attended the show. This type of management was probably launched after what happened at the Madrid Monster Ball in 2010, when many falsified tickets were sold. So, I guess the "good thing" after that event (don't take me wrong, that situation was awful), is that they made sure it wouldn't happen again.

What are your opinions on the website? (I'm not asking about your opinions on the morality of such websites). Has any of you had any bad experiences with it? Are they reliable?

I bought JWT using it but obvs my date was cancelled, they refunded it just fine, I remember being worried i'd get there and the tickets may not work though

i think it's really up to chance with viagogo, personally i purchased a ticket for The Eras Tour in Singapore and my ticket turned out to be valid

at the same time, many others also purchased from viagogo which resulted in them not being able to enter due to multiple duplicate entries before them or getting escorted out mid-concert, again due to duplicate tickets being scanned

I was just one of the lucky ones, so I would say there's still a risk of your ticket being invalid / a scam

i've both sold and purchased tickets on there and have never ever had any issues. the fact that the seller doesn't receive any of the money until the event is over gives me enough security, personally.

I bought tickets for Sam Smith there a few years ago, had no problems, but was supper worried

and I also got my tickets for Barcelona now for Gaga, and am also supper worried, I just hope it works out

I regret getting them there because just now I saw that the golden circle is still available on gigsberg for the similar price

Well, I got Lana tickets for her UK stadium shows in June and honestly, I was so naive because I didn't realise until today, when I saw this thread and did my research, that viagogo was even a reselling site.  My friend just WhatsApped me the link to get tickets there, so that's what I did and I naturally assumed all this time that it was just another site like ticketmaster. I did think it was very risky that apparently the tickets aren't being sent until 3 days before the show but I suppose this is normal. So, it's all resold tickets? And the sellers don't get paid until you've attended the show? That's a bit better and I'm a bit cheered to see that almost all of you who have posted so far have had good experiences but it doesn't change the fact that when you look up the controversies this company has endured that they don't give you pause. Apparently there are rules in place to maintain consumer care and it does say that if my tickets don't arrive on time that I'll get a refund as I'm protected under their guarantee but even so...getting refunded doesn't erase the fact that I can't get into the show. Fingers crossed I get them in time and they're legit.
