hardcore1996 1,615
I wanted to make a thread about the self references is MAYHEM, I love little easter eggs like that. If you think of anything else I’d love to know! 100% a Reference: Perfect Celebrity- Princess Die “Watch the Princess Die” Blade of Grass- Judas “Queen without a crown” Abracadabra- Bad Romance, Judas “Gaga” as a lyric, other nonsensical words and general song structure A Reach but I believe it Vanish Into You/Garden of Eden- Bad Romance “Ooooh oh-“ Melody used partially in both songs Zombieboy- Monster- “Put your paws all over me” Don’t Call Tonight- Speechless “I cant believe all the things that you said to me tonight” You cant convince me this song isn’t about Joseph lol Shadow of a Man- John Wayne- “Peaking through the eye of the storm” I love this one because both songs are different angles at looking at men lol

AliceAnesthesia 0
I've been thinking about this as well. A couple things I thought about Just from Perfect Celebrity alone (Not saying these are intentional but interesting connections I saw) Perfect Celebrity and Plastic Doll "I'm made of Plastic like a human Doll." And also "You push and pull me, I don't hurt at all." vs. the PD chorus "don't play with me, it just hurts me." Applause and Perfect Celebrity. "If only fame had an I.V."/"I found the vein, put it in here" and "Tap on my vein, suck on my diamond blood. Choke on the fame and hope it gets you high." And that same line also made me think of Diamond Heart. Edited 1 hour ago by AliceAnesthesia correcting a typo My head is filled with broken mirrors, so many I can't look away.
