Well, I had a gig last week which was basically serving tourists kids (at their 12-17) meals at a bar so I connected my AppleMusic and had Mayhem playing nonstop on the background :gaycat:

once miss Abra showed up I could hear some of them “oh listen, that’s Abracadabra” and then they were singing along and trying some choreo. It was nice

this sounds like fanfiction

Vanish Into You

why do I feel like it will pull a Judas with longevity.... I feel like the straights haven't even really discovered this song yet (at least in the US)

Oh. You're just trolling. Cool. Carry on...

im not trolling

in what universe is a song that peaked at #13 a general public hit???

its currently at #38

for a song to be a HIT, it has to atleast chart within the top 10 once, ideally it would stay there. DWAS is a hit its been in the top 10 ever since it was released.

pls stop being delulu and doing mental gymnastics to make yourself feel better about abra underperforming.  as fans we love it, abra was cute but lets not lie to ourselves

Didn't Abracadabra go top 5 worldwide?

But also, your definition of a "hit song" is wild :kry: imo any song that makes it to the top 200 is a hit 'cause imagine how many hundreds of thousands of songs could be charting right this second and Abracadabra is #38? That's honestly impressive to me idk.

Not here for the "hit" discourse lmao. People at least know the song as a TikTok sound, just like Bloody Mary or Judas, and we call them "hits" too.

🧡Should go home but the partysick wants me🧡

a GP hit is omnipresent, DWAS is a hit, born this way is a hit, just dance, pokerface, bad romance, shallow those are hits

abra is more of a song her fans love and not really a GP song

Agree to disagree I guess. I don't really care either way, my favorite songs barely ever chart above 100 :icant:

It’s at least a moderate hit in the US. If it wasn’t, it wouldn’t be growing on radio two months after release, and it wouldn’t have stayed inside the top 40 for its entire run like it has.

I think this ends the discussion and proves is a hit imo

A slower one, not as big as DWAS, but it is still

It's definitely her most successful dance pop solo hit of the streaming era, no debate but I think it's a collective queer hit across different queer fandoms, and not so much a GP hit like DWAS

Number of streams while the song has also been in the Top 200 Spotify chart (monitors popularity success)

Total number of streams regardless of being in the Top 200 chart (monitors longevity success)
