Yeah but you also have to consider you live in a country where most people actually have access to healthcare lmao

Americans need all the help we can get

In a financial sense maybe, in every other way, i dunno anymore :enigma:

I believe it, but the argument is always on teeth alone. I question possible other health impacts of constantly consuming it

Yes I know, "theres no scientific evidence it hurts u". But thats what we always say about chemicals for 30, 40, 50 years until we find out if actually has some potential impacts

Im sure its not devestating nor is it something i stress about. But i still prefer to use my filter that removes some of the added chemicals from water in any case

It's been added to water since the 50s.

It's just right wing trying to use fear tactics to scare people.

My grandma was literally in daycare lmao

Ok 50 is one thing but 60 years changes everything :toofunny:

Look dont get me wrong, if it had any major effects we would know by now and its not something im loosing sleep or stressing about

But when it comes to chemicals, if its very small or subtle impacts they only catch links with extensive studies and what not

Antiobiotics have been used a lot since what 1950s? It wasnt until 2010s that we started to hear a lot and gain understanding about just how much havok it can have on your microbiome and in turn your overall health

I took antibiotics for 2 years straight for acne as I was told it was completely safe. I still wonder to this day if the inflammatory bowel issues i developed shortly after had somethibg to do with it.

Now obviously sometimes antiobics are genuinely needed with serious inflections so dont misunderstand my point. Im merely pointing out side effects to stuff literally go entirely missed for many decades and during that entire time experts swear by their life its safe

Meanwhile cautious ppl like me get criticized cuz we sometimes have doubts :rip:

It has nothing to do with politics for me. Im not even right wing

My issue is stuff being safe and totally harmless for decades and decades and then suddenly one day new evidence suggests maybe the harm wasnt 0 after all but all of us who are cautious are somehow always crazy

Read my comment above about the antibiotics. Perfect example right there. Took them some 60 years to make connections that in reality there can be side effects way worse than previously understood. But as early as 2008 when i was on them for 2 years straight no one even questioned how harmful that could be

Fluride isnt anything as strong as antibiotics but im just making the point that just because a connection on a side effect isnt made for a long time doesnt guarantee one doesnt exist

To more bluntly say it, they dont know everything

Edit: im gonna add tho that it isnt that deep. Im not saying others should avoid drinking fluoride or agree with me. I was merely casually saying i wouldnt mind avoiding the extra fluride for myself as a cautious person, thats all

You probably shouldn't have been told that though so it's not as comparable :cryga:

No, I get you, just giving you a hard time :icant:

Fluoride's one of the better known chemicals 'cause it's so widely used and like most things, it's perfectly fine as long as it's not being taken in in toxic levels. When that happens, it can cause fluorosis (discoloration of the teeth) at low levels to some neurological issues at extreme levels.

But the levels at which you'd need to be exposed for anything like that to happen would never be found in drinking water so the pros drastically outweigh the cons.

Probably not the best advice even with the knowledge they had in the 2000s.

But either way, the full scale of the side effects did not become better understood until the 2010s because of a greater understanding of just how much your microbiome affects so many aspects of your health and in turn how damaging it can be harmful

And antibitotics have been used for a good 80 years already

So i dont know why im so crazy for pointing out that experts dont know everything. A health impact connection not being made at this time isnt always proof one doesnt exist

Fair :rip:

Though to be real I've been hacking up bloody ick for about two weeks now after a worsening lung infection and I know my ass couldn't afford a full treatment regimen so I'm just winging it with antibiotics and a prayer :toofunny:

I also have a coworker that just found out she has an ectopic pregnancy who spent her whole day trying to a) find a doctor who will treat it (Florida's abortion laws), b) convince her insurance to cover treatment...

Just let us have our fluoride, man :rip:

I mean i think what ur saying is probably true. And I know fluride and antibiotics are not exactly comperable.

My point was just to point out experts dont always know everything and even after many many decades sometimes things that were taken for granted as near health facts end up going thru unexpected adjustments

And given I believe my health suffered permanent damage from bad advice that if it was now probably never would have been given, I think i at the very least earned the right to be slightly skeptical and cautious :enigma:

Again and I reiterate, i am not telling others to do the same just cuz I do

Oh I know, sis. Every statement you make here is taken as a hill you'll die on sometimes. Personally, I will die on any hill, but that's just me :whitney:

It never hurts to ask for more clarification or confidence in anything, you're right

Oh yeah, something like a lung infection u would have been able to get treatment easy here and afforded drugs better even if wait times in ER or for an appoinent at a walk in would have been unpleasent

I still prefer our system to the US.

But definitely with specialists visits, certain tests and surgeries etc the wait times have become unacceptable

Canada used to be top 5 in the world by life expectancy now were not even top 10. And I cant believe for 3 years straight life exoectancy droped :fail: This health crisis needs to be addressed!
