Thank you for knowing the terminology better hahaha I was like I know what she’s doing but don’t really know the exact terms for it. it’s like she puts it in her face but then also opens her mouth enough and specifically enough for the resonance to be way in the back of her throat it’s so cool.

Thank you both for being more educated than me! Whatever it is that sound is what made me really fall in love with her voice so hearing it back makes me so happy. I lowkey worried it was a tone she lost as her voice aged. We’re soooooooo ****ing back lol

You’re welcome  def not lost it’s 100% a theatrical affectation. I think she amped it up to what we know now as “Dope Vocals” but she def never lost it. I think over the last few years she just got focused on raising the capabilities of her high notes and falsetto so songs tended to focus that way rather than on a tone she was suuuuper comfortable creating. Thank GOD we’re back bc I agree it’s such a fun unique Gaga vocal styling

Interesting how she’s tweaked the lyrics in the Abracadabra spell. In both this performance and the ASMR interview, she sings:

Abracadabra, amor-oo-na-na
Abracadabra, morta-oo-gaga

But in the studio version, the third line goes:

Abracadabra, abra-oo-na-na
