When this wins AOTY, we will have the last laugh. Who do we need to pay for votes?

Beyonce is releasing this year. Tay tay is. My hopes for that are low. Scammys are rigged

unless gaga wins aoty then they are not rigged:huntyga:

The concept of loving an album and also talking about its numbers and discussing wether or not its performing good are not mutually exclusive.

200-225k is mediocre/lukewarm. Its less that Chromatica and this album cycle had more promo and a better context in terms of GP sentiment. Gaga just won a grammy, had a COLOSAL hit with DWAS, she’s the 2nd most streamed artist on Spotify IN THE WORLD, we aren’t in a global pandemic anymore, and she has been doing countless interviews to promote the record. While she could be playing the long game, business wise this album probably was aiming for higher than its initial projection. If anything, anyone thinking it wasn’t gonna do more than Chromatica lowballed it (and unfortunately were right).

I agree that 350k was too optimistic, but 200k isn’t something to be amazed by. Its barely the bar it should reach

I don't disagree that the numbers are stunningly low. I just didn't like the vicious vibe that was happening. I reasonably expected 280k based on the exclusive variants and the promo. But I think it's VERY important to remember that people aren't at home listening to music like they were with Chromatica and the US economy is in absolute shambles at the moment with no sign of relief. I think the bigger measure is Gaga having the biggest streaming debut of her career, although a lot of it can be attributed to DWAS

I thought it would do a bit higher than that because the average stan is buying several versions. There’s Standard CD and vinyl, Webstore CD and vinyl, Target CD and vinyl, cassettes, signed copies, etc so many more versions than Chromatica but this is still great to be honest.

We got a pretty amazing album from start to finish and it’s the most important thing and every day has been fun leading to the release. Abracadabra is gonna be such a Gaga classic and keeps climbing the global lists.

People also need to keep in mind that buying physical copies (especially vinyl) is VERY expensive now and it’s mostly collectors who keep chasing those versions. As much as I want to have them all I just picked the Standard CD, vinyl and cassette and Japanese mini LP because I have other stuff to use that money for.

I got the signed one, web store exclusive, zoetrope, Spotify purple one the target one and the iTunes download.  And stream daily so doing what I can.

Those are great numbers for 2025, and I’m confident the album will remain in the top 100 for a while. Love how Gaga has been giving each song (so far) it’s time to shine with either live performances or actual singles with MV. So far we have Killah and Perfect Celebrity from non-singles and I’m hoping she will perform Garden of Eden at some sporting event (ESPN/F1). Then we also have Wednesday S2 and the actual concerts and Coachella!

I had read all these things like “she’s already sold the equivalent of 2 millions records based on the three singles alone” (yes i am including DWAS because it is on the album).  Why are these track sales/streams not being counted towards this first week number? Like how do all the initial streams and sales of the singles get considered with respect to the album chart position?

Neither Beyoncé or Taylor are guaranteed AOTY. If anything I’d argue the GP are getting fatigued with their exposure over the last few years.

Is Beyoncé releasing this year for sure? There’s a 2 year gap between Renaissance and Cowboy Carter, I assume she wants to do tour this year and then Act III in 2026.

Also Gaga fans are mostly adults who are employed so this explains why we can't do Taylor's numbers.

Sorry but it doesn’t make sense for physical or digital sales, you can’t buy records if you don’t have a salary

I’m telling yall, Gaga is playing the long game with this album cycle

People just don't listen. In the spotify LM interview she explained that Vanish Into You was the first song written and Die With a Smile was last one which means she was sitting on it since at least the September 2024.

It's frustrating, in the most recent topic about Micheal is apparent most people don't actually listen or read her interviews.

I can't fault them too much ig, some people just want the music and that's fine, but yeah.

The melody that you choose can rescue you

Pre-release streams and sales get counted towards total units/certification (like Gold, Platinum etc) but don't count towards release-week units. Only sales/streams from this tracking week will count towards chart position
