My only complain is she shouldn't add backing vocals on the bridge, it doesn't let appreciate her live vocals

other than that she ate

Her maintaining her vocals whilst being lifted and tossed, and whilst doing the choreo is so impressive :stupidoreo:

tbf i think they were there for a safety net knowing she's going to be hella out of breath after the choreo before the bridge

I found a new appreciation for this song after the performance. I think her performances really bring her songs to life, as she is a performance artist to her core!

My interpretation of the song is that it’s a nod to what fame expects of her. She is an artist and wants to put out new music but sometimes it feels like fame/fans expect her to churn out music and performances like magic. This song says “here it is “Abracadabra” here I am!!!” Back again! I’m interpreting this very literally now. She has always been tongue in cheek so I think this makes complete sense for her too.

i don't wanna be the one but was she not a bit off key here😭   I hate these head mics but the dancing was great, some of the vocals sounded great but really shaky at times

Not really off key at any point as far as I remember. I mean she’s clearly focusing on sustaining her breath throughout a lot of it, but her breath control and support is really good/impressive, it’s just not a 100% perfect vocal.

I was kind of surprised by the decision to go with the “no make up make up” look for both performances, but maybe the idea is that, even in these elevated performances, she’s still the same person that she is underneath the makeup/costumes etc.

They dont have time for crazy make ups in SNL. Remember all of it happens live and they only have the commercial breaks to change everything. Imagine doing a theatrical look in 5 min, and then having to take it off and do a neutral one as well for the skit after the performance.

That also scans tbh. Tbf she could’ve done something like the face mask she did for the Super Bowl that comes off easily, so I do think sticking with a totally neutral base was also probably a deliberate aesthetic choice as well
