NUTELLA 8,661
3 PERFECT CELEBRITY Okay… at first I was indifferent to both snippets of this (Paris & tracklist vid) Then the song title reveal… made me cringe. But… oh my god….. Perfect Celebrity had me IN ITS CLUTCHES as soon as the first verse started. This is a gay U2 song. This is a “poppier” You’re Going Down by Sick Puppies. This is the sound I’m hoping for on the next Madonna album (it sounds/feels like a modern, angrier Ray of Light song). This feels like a more sophisticated Aura. The vocals & production of the chorus have an Evanescence-like intensity…. & it ****ing sandblasts me……… All the sonic details are so precise & thought-out here. It makes me want to drive fast, windows down, on a summer night. I think there was a specific sound many people wanted from LG7, & I think she delivered that sound on this track more than any other. This is Lady Gaga’s best rock song. “You love to haaayyyte me” My eyes keep wanting to roll back into my skull The outro has so much weight now nghgghhhggh
NUTELLA 8,661
2 SHADOW OF A MAN My excitement could not have been higher, based on the CBT snippet. Now the intro makes me feel nostalgic (we will always love you, LG7 pre-era!!!!) I was not disappointed. Just the opposite… I say this in a positive, but strange way: Lady Gaga is almost unrecognizable to me here. There is some obvious MJ, but… this is Christina Aguilera, if she made YOUR BODY (PART 2) & took it REALLY seriously. This is a revved-up Dance In The Dark. I am so in love. This is the specific energy I needed. It is camp, but confident about it. THIS CHORUS IS FLEETING & IT TEARS MY FACE OFF. I can’t believe how intense the vocals sound in this chorus… This song is the grand finale of a concert. The bridge ~beep-beep-beeping~ into the final chorus MADE MY HEAD EXPLODE. This is her strongest song since anything on BTW. I will replay this track more than any other from the album. I feel grateful for this. Shadow Of A Man was worth the wait. NUTELLA 8,661
1 LOVEDRUG I don’t know what happened here. This song is ****ing beautiful. The verses are captivating & the vocals are strong. But the chorus… comes out of nowhere & takes me to another dimension. I think this is because I had no preconceived notions about it at all. It just suddenly overwhelmed me. She took a bold swing with the higher-pitched vocals & it paid off. Then the electric guitar melody sneaking up, getting louder & finally hypnotizing me in the outro (like a grungier Just Dance synth)… that was almost happy tears, for real. I wanted LoveDrug to keep going. I have a new top 10 Lady Gaga song in 2025??? Are you kidding me??????
Guest
i love lovedrug a lot too i understand so much why you ranked it so high. it's a very interresting take on the synthwave revival and this is a type of genre that is good to convey emotions. It fits Gaga so much. my overall review is that. IT'S A GROWER Y'ALL and her maturity album. Spoiler vocals are so rich and so strong, she taps into avril lavigne better than avril lavigne (joke), and even uses her voice as a guitar at some point... she's improved as a singer and really put it all in. Musically it's richer than ever, analog and sexy and timeless af too.... A hudge point is that i'm not tired of disease and abracadrabra and i didn't felt bored when i played the record in full glory..i think they are already stand outs. Perfe and to conclude I think we should be gratefull she's doing all this for us. I think Abra low key reaches Bad Romance in a way that's it's hyper fierce, deep and cryptic meaningfull and gothic. let's not even talk about blade of grass... it took me two listens to cry coz it's actually filled with all the pain of the loneliness before... i think i was internalising at the first one lol. My only weakness for me is that she didn't credited Bowie's Fame in Killer like she did for Siouxsie. i hear the bowie influence like a mash up of fame and i'm afraid of americans more than the prince one Edited March 8 by Nathaniel Arven

Definitely a timeless quality to this album, too. I can't believe I'm actually saying that. This is so ****ing exciting. There really isn't a single BIG misstep on this entire album for me at all.
Elderflower 394
Her high note on LoveDrug in the last chorus at 02:35 TAKES ME OUT. Her tone is superb. So rich! And the electric guitars are going HARD at the same time

I also really like Shadow Of A Man and Perfect Celebrity. These are top-tier Gaga songs! I haven't heard Can't Stop The High yet because I want to listen to it on the CD. I'm almost imploding from my excitement to hear it after your review, and knowing what songs you liked

huttont 5,253
Lovedrug snuck up on me HARD. After my first listen I was okay it was good. And now it’s stuck in my head constantly. My only complaint is that it just ended unexpectedly and I wanted more.

I don't really like live music, but even I want to see this one performed.
