I think Chappell Roan is speaking the truth, and she is courageous to do so. I look at what she’s been doing and saying and think, Man, I should have stood up for myself more when I was younger. I think a woman speaking their mind is a powerful thing, and I was really happy she did that.” I think this is the first time she’s talked about Chappell right? I think she's praised Chappell before (if nothing else, in a TikTok comment), but this might be the first longer comment she's made on her, at least that I'm aware of. I came here to post this same excerpt. Hopefully people will lay off of Chappell speaking up for herself now that Mother Monster has given her seal of approval for being assertive. hamartia 834
Great interview - I love when she talks plainly about herself and her career. It makes me really sad that some fans hold on to the ARTPOP era as when she was being her "true self", when she's spoken so many times now about how that was one part of her identity running riot whilst the rest of her clearly suffered. I remember reading someone on here saying that they were disappointed that she wouldn't "die for her art" anymore, when like... that's a good thing She still clearly has that intensity inside her, she's just trying to find a balance so that she doesn't explode again. I don't want her to be tortured and neither should you!!!
HermesG 1,501
I feel, the most interesting part/question-n congrats to reporter for this- is that part for her previous dark personas. Kinda she said she became psychotic cause of dark personas she dressed guys. Unfortunately that’s the vibes I took from her prior chromatica since now… all that obsessive with kindness punks etc etc.. she couldn’t stand all that dark (which we all loved n demand all the time to be back..) or she combined it with her bad emotions back in time.. even now, I feel her singles (disease n abra) which had dark themes, it wasn’t suited realistic but kinda “a game”, like a gift for us to shut us the f up.. specially abra even tho “dark’, has an almost kid-funny sense of magic… I think we are in an era that she want us to forget the bad bitch from fame monster n born this way era.. n obviously she doesn’t see that personas in a positive way.. even her themes lyrically I feel changed drastically to more “wanna be loved” themes.. Unfortunately, her “priestess” dark persona (aka Alejandro, Judas, Born this way, Bad romance, NTN) was my favourite but I feel she kinda freaks her out.. She said she didn't feel herself and she wasn't making her best music at the time but then immediately said Chromatica was authentic to what she wanted to say at the time 🧡The blindfold's off my eyes, all I see for me is better days🧡

PartySick 153,966
I'm still struggling with her silence last year. She says it's important to be loud and speaks proudly about her short statement at the Grammys but at the most crucial time in modern American history when it was all on the line and we still had a chance to stop this chaos, she was nearly dead silent. A perfect album and my love for her music being reignited doesn't fix that in that moment in time, she prioritized safe PR for her film over doing the right thing and that failing is a huge blotch on her image for me personally. If she wants to reclaim her activist title, she needs to act more. And if not, I'm cool with that, but be honest about it. No more grand statements, just creating an accepting bubble around herself is perfectly fine. Anyway, that aside, I love how she talks about this album and I definitely clocked the vibes from the first listen. It's classic without being "done before" and acknowledges pain without being in pain. Love it 🧡The blindfold's off my eyes, all I see for me is better days🧡
