AcidWashBoys 206
Do you guys think the relations between the Mayhem tracks and her early work are coincidences or very on purpose? Everyone has been saying GOE is Private Audition's mother, Killah same sample as Fancy Pants (and Babylon demo tbh she might just rlly fk with Fame by Bowie), Pefect Celebrity references Princess Die (this obvi very on purpose) and Vanish Into You outro reminds me of Wonderful lowkey. She said she revisited some demos but threw them out so maybe she subconciously did similar work to these demos? Idk but I think it works so well with the message of the album and where she is in her career rn. I've always wanted her to revisit her pre-Fame/Fame sound so bad and this feels like such a perfect way of doing that while still bringing something fresh. obsessed! <

I think she carries a lot of love for that song still. it was so cute seeing her singing it to Tony in their documentary! <
Ladle Ghoulash 38,226
Setting the record straight: Killah clearly references Fame by Bowie, but neither samples nor interpolates it. But that aside: I really feel like this whole album’s vibe is very pre-TF Gaga and I love it We have forgotten our public MANNERS

RichAssPiss 5,013
Perfect Celebrity very clearly references The Fame and Princess Die. Also, would mention there's a lot that sounds like Fever in terms of the disco meets 90s glam rock influences.

no1BabylonStan 22
The way she sings “animal” on ZomebieBoy reminds me of the old “Animal” demo!
Juanne 767
I mean, it's Gaga, I'm sure it was intentional..
ReplayBoss 363
Didn't she reference Frankenstein again during the press conference for Mayhem? The scars on my mind are on replay, r-replay

Fame literally killed her. That lyric, for us, is a bit of a nod to the song Princess Die, but it's also just a reference to Diana herself that anybody should be able to get ¡Seguimos aquí! Vicixs 3,504
Listening to it in real time with friends was crazy because I start there and just named unreleased track after unreleased track after demo of what certain songs sounded. It was crazy feeling like I was 12 again downloading demos illegally on LimeWire and YT Religion is a product to sell.
