I know she was singing about Michael proposing, but as a fan since The Fame it sounded like she's sing to me/us too, "and we'll make it last"--and like the past 15 years of her work and me following it just flashed through my mind and I started making ugly faces lmao. Oh my Gaga you did that. I loooooove this song, the same way I love Angel Down and Brown Eyes and Speechless and Thousand Doves and Gypsy, etc. Still emotional tbh Excellent transition to DWAS, too. It's really like TF and TFM maturing, after having ugly crying laughing conversations with BTW, ARTPOP, Joanne and Chromatica. Blade of Grass was so vocally emotional, giving same emotional performance as that final song from A Star is Born. I just turned 30, so maybe your hypothesis is correct With this song and many others, I really enjoy the key in which she sings the choruses or parts of the album. Like She's up there but sounds so comfortable and not yell-y. Vocals soar but have peaks and valleys where there should be some. "Like we've known her our own life" indeed. You are small men. I’m 32 so YESS you completely understand. This album has Disco Heaven and Summerboy written allllllll over it. All of which were songs she wrote before the concept of the Fame was created. It’s full of bridges like The Fame, minor chords like The Fame Monster, attitude and keys from Born This Way, poetry from ARTPOP and Joanne, and the ethereal moment that encapsulates Chromatica.
