The verses on this are My absolute favourite from Mayhem.
The second verse in particular gives me chills.

This! The second verse is devastating! She definitely wrote some of her best lyrics for Mayhem!

100%

“I taste the last words that you spoke to me like wine” is such a Gaga line. I love it.

I didn’t expect much from it, because the song title did not stand out at all for me. But damn, was I wrong. Currently my favorite song on the album. Her delivery of the verses are everything. It transports me back to my teenage years and evenings in dance school. An absolut highlight, this one!

StrawberryBlond

Inoffensive enough but it's a bit too simple and repetitive for me. It's nice to hear that "I just need a dose of the right stuff" on those Harlequin images had a purpose in the end and I do like the verses, it's nice to hear a pop song that has genuine maturity. Just felt it got a bit lost in the album as a whole.

Melodean

Has become nearly my favourite song from mayhem, it’s so soulful and euphoric I was listening while on a motorbike and it was the best thing ever :stupidoreo:

NUTELLA

An album highlight.

Great lyrics & sonically feels very "Stand Back" by Stevie Nicks,

with a bit of The Cranberries sprinkled on.

I'm obsessed with that song for three days. It is so, so good.

It sounds like a classic, something out of the 80's, the chorus is infectious. I love the pace of how she sings the words, I absolutely love the guitar, the chords, the Daft Punk-esque talkbox in the Right ear, the synth,...

This is one of my absolute fav from Gaga. In my top 5 probably (not that I ever thought of any Top 5 before :laughga:).

It's simple, yet impactful, truly a gem.

[I have to say I had mixed feelings about Mayhem for a few days after my first listen, but now I feel like I am able to appreciate it for how it is, after letting go of my previous expectations. This record is top tier :traumatica:]
