AyeshaErotica 1,697
I think we now have bigger hype than during Chromatica. Gaga hinting she is returning to the music her earliest fans loved. It's just one sentence but this one sentence basically determines all of our expectations right now. I suppose it will be the best album since The Fame and the second and last final of Gaga. I'm looking gorgeous tonight

They aren’t turning on it. The way this topic was about the hype and some members couldn’t keep their negativity to themselves. PartySick 159,825
I'm taking a lot of time to myself lately and it honestly doesn't feel like an album is coming in just a few days. Disease and Abracadabra have fallen out of my rotations already while Happy Mistake and the rest of Harlequin remain along with Joanne and a few picks from ARTPOP and Born This Way so I'm worried about how well the album will stick with me. I remember while the final project was a let down, I was much more hyped for Chromatica. Maybe I'm just in my major depressive disorder era though From what I can tell, the fanbase is energized and the GP is hungry. I was at the grocery store last week and the radio mentioned her Hot Ones interview and talked a bit about Mayhem coming soon. It's rare to hear her name brought up like that in the wild. 🌸Flourishing and vibrant🌼
lastpopicon 29,494
Today in a short 30 min drive I heard 3 SONGS from gaga on the radio: DWAS, Shallow and I'll Never Love Again!. No abracadabra though (but it's top 10 here) I never saw her see this much played tbh, I don't listen to radio that often, but I feel like this indicates she's really on the minds of the GP, so yes, I'd say the hype is bigger this time around, from what i see around me and the excitement I see from fans online. Even here, the consensus has been that disease and abracadabra is the best music she's made in a long time, people are really hungry for the album And I think this will translate in very good 1st week numbers, better than Chromatica would be a great start, but i think there's hype for +300k The melody that you choose can rescue you

TheFame Monster 8,924
Mayhem for sure. I was let down by Stupid Love, but still excited for Chromatica. I've enjoyed DWAS, Disease, and Abracadabra so I'm hyped. Also seeing how excited and engaged is with Mayhem feeds to that. I was totally in when I saw the way her eyes lit up when breaking down her vocals in Disease
Lord Axel 824
I think MAYHEM is more hype simply from how stretched out the promo cycle has been; like DWAS came out August 16th, and even though we didn't know it would be part of MAYHEM it's still relevant to the fact that the hype has been building for the past 6 months AAAHHHHH ʟɪᴠɪɴɢ ᴛʜᴇ ɢᴏʟᴅ ᴀɴᴅ ᴛʜᴇ ꜱɪʟᴠᴇʀ ᴅʀᴇᴀᴍ ϟ†▽✰𝒿 ~Ɐ
HeavyCapiLover 3,556
Chromatica had a huge hype inside the fanbase bc it was her return to dance pop after 7 years of waiting, but outside of it not so much. There was obviously the post-ASIB hype but clearly stupid love and the lack of promo due to covid kinda made the gp lose interest in the album. Rn it feels like their is a big hype for Mayhem from the gp that we didn't have for Chromatica, and Abracadabra clearly marked a return for the dark/crazy gaga that people were missing. Chromatica on the other hand didn't feel like the "old tastament" gaga despite bringing back an electronic sound and camp aesthetic, bc it didn't have the confidence and the dark/controversial vibe that gaga is known for. Also, gaga's music has become very trendy those past few years, especially following the success of bloody mary. In 2020, there wasn't this much nostalgia for her old discography as many still prefered the classy ASIB gaga. Overall I think that the question that matters now is if that hype is going to hold after the album release. If the gp likes mayhem, gaga is going to have a new peak in her carreer commercially wise. Notorious 122
Chromatica was exciting but the hype had nothing on this era.
