Chromatica in general will always have a serious and special place in my heart because, honestly, it was there when I needed it the most, and it delivered. I couldn’t have gotten through 2020 without it tbh. Haters gonna hate, but I know there’s a massive collective of us that literally survived the pandemic thanks to both Stupid Love and Chromatica. Thank you mother monster ❤️❤️❤️ Yup. Same. It’s not her best obviously and my heart is made of charcoal so obviously the holy trinity (TFM, BTW, MAYHEM) suits me better. But this song and the album were here for me when I was feeling at the lowest in my life and its lightness helped me fight and go through a very difficult time. lastpopicon 31,281
it's a bop, never understood the hate, never will. the mv is also not horrible as some try to paint it imo, though, I think it's the weakest from the era. The melody that you choose can rescue you
Queen Gloria 3,464
Always loved the song and it's bright, colorful Power Rangers video. Haters simply have no taste or appreciation for the references she was going for (80s Synthwave/90s anime). Murakami27 4,892
It’s a cute song. I never loved it but never hated it either. The video honestly killed the vibe even more for me, though. The cinematography and costumes just looked so cheap. It really needed stronger visuals to lift the song.
Starmie25 18,877
I also really enjoy the maximalist sound of this track. It had been years since Gaga released a carefree bop like "Stupid love" Also the CouCou remix is tight!

Stupid Love might not be the best songs in Chromatica but it was a proper introduction to the album because it’s pretty house influenced especially the vocoder “chipmunk” (which is another trend Gaga clocked in on time) and it has lots of instrumental too. that’s why it still slapped at the CBT even tho we already know a large part of the fanbase just tolerate it. I think Max Martin really did a thing here and would have been nice if he had another track in the album. Vocals are amazing “for a change”. yes, video can be accused of being a bit underwhelming which is also because of the extremely camp aesthetic and iphone. but it’s known they were really planning on just introducing the era with the tribes and this narrative and JOURNEY that was completely abandoned because of certain something that happened on the planet around that time and everyone knows that but it’s always worth mentioning when talking about it. We know your struggle, Stupid Love! anyways I think it’s precise to say Gaga lead singles are always polarizing and I think that’s wonderful. I think Stupid Love overall is more than a decent song and it is a bop whether people bop to it or not. Thank you mother monster ❤️❤️❤️ I can relate 2020-21 was horrible for me, not only because of COVID being a vibe killer, but also just because my life was a train wreck in general at that time. A lot of the heavier lyrics resonated with my situation and I developed a special kind of attachment to the album for that reason. The happier or cuntier songs were also just good ways to escape for a bit and feel better. Edited March 2 by march35th bc had a northern lad, well not exactly had.
