The government of Singapore made a special clause that forbade for Taylor to perform anywhere else in South-East Asia - and focus on Singapore. So Singapore gets all the tour dates that could have been elsewhere in SEA. Singapore is a global major city and a global host city and is even turning anglophone now. 4-6 shows are realistic for Singapore. I can very well imagine Sing'gov' reached out to Gaga and made such a special contract, too. Right, not allowed to perform anywhere else in South-East Asia. Japan is not affected. You tried to make an statement out of nothing, typing all of that and so on... Cause I never said it's not possible for others to do it. Just pointed out Gaga won't do such a massive tour. Period. Our sustainable queen I'm sorry but that's not true. When a big artist concentrates his/her concerts in a few places, fans fly from farther because they are less likely to find a concert near them. The distances flown are greater when concerts are concentrated in a few cities than when they are spread out in more cities that geographically cover several equidistant points on a continent, taking into account population density. Especially in Asia/Australia, long flights are common, which could at least be halved with a little more variance. Environmental pollution increases as a result. Since it involves tens of thousands of fans compared to the about a hundred Gaga employees who fly, it causes actually significantly more damage to the environment. Global artists tours are the opposite of sustainability. The concentration is not done for the sake of the environment, but to save on stage construction costs and to pass on flight and hotel costs to the fans. 28 minutes ago, elegidadedios said: You tried to make an statement out of nothing, typing all of that and so on... Maybe she only does two shows in Singapore, and the other four shows are reserved in the sense that if Gaga considers more than two shows in Southeast Asia, she would be legally obliged to do them exclusively in Singapore, but she doesn't have to if she sticks to two. This way you and I could both be right. I'm looking gorgeous tonight

I’m not going to write a super long response because I cbf - I get your point but I don’t agree. 1) Gaga’s carbon footprint would be calculated based on her and her teams movements, not movements of her fans - because that simply is not practicable. From a brand perspective, it looks better for her when the numbers are crunched as she isn’t moving. 2) Singapore has one of the busiest and most well connected airports in the world with 100s of flights carrying a large number of passengers daily. Unsure what happened with T Swift etc and whether they increased capacity just for her, but any fan that flies to Singapore would likely be booking themselves on a plane that was already scheduled to fly, and has been scheduled to fly at that time slot daily for the last however long. A full plane = a full plane whether it’s carrying a Gaga fan or simply a tourist visiting Singapore. StrawberryBlond 14,373
I highly doubt she can sell that well there. Taylor doing that many there is a total anomaly. Gaga has lost her foothold in Asia that she once had, her success there is a lot more limited now, even in Japan, which used to be a much bigger market for her. The success of DWAS in Asia has helped significantly though but not to this extent. Definitely filed under rumour for now. 23 hours ago, Neroneau said: Singapore works with exclusivity . So 6 shows cuz the signee is not allowed to perform anywhere else in Asia I think there can still be ways around these negotiations. There's plenty of other artists that were able to perform in other areas of SEA as well as Singapore. Coldplay did 6 dates at the Singapore stadium last year and also did other stadium dates all over Asia. When Taylor did it, I think her team were playing it safe just in case she didn't have the demand at each country's stadium so instead made almost all her Asian fans come to one country instead, meaning it was guaranteed sellouts.
