Kayi 2,607
I don't know if it's intentional but I think it's a cool theory. See : "Lovedrug" / "LoveGame" ??? "How Bad do U want me" / "Do what U want" ??? "Don’t Call Tonight" / "Telephone" ?? "Perfect Celebrity" / "The Fame" or "Applause" ?? "The Beast" / "Born this way" or Monster ? (The lyrics : You can't hide who you are 11:59, your heart's racin' You're growling, and we both know why) "Vanish into you" / "ARTPOP" ?? "Disease"... It's a song from her Lady Mayhem povs but the lyrics can also but interpretated from the pov of a lover. A healthy lover unlike the one from "Bad Romance". "Abracadabra" is about just dancing... So it could be a ref to "Just Dance" ? Are these the broken mirror pieces that she mentionned in her interview ? I'm here to take a break from university homeworks :/ 1 3

AyeshaErotica 1,640
Yes, I think so, they all bear a reference to one of her previous songs and the album is for her earliest fans and a return to old glorious times! Quartz 12,492
The Disease MV have different eras. It has Mayhem as either You and I or John Wayne looks. She has the Venus performance look there. The last looks has the Chromatica album outfit where she was levitating. I'm still trying to figure out the one at the start with the panty and the two dancing on top of each other (that might be a reference to The Fame and The Fame Monster). Inside, we are really made the same. 🕊
infinitesadness 36
i loved the little back-references in disease. it feels like it might be a nod to 911 as well, in the sense that it seems more about physical and mental pain and vulnerability as much as it is about desire or love. thematically, it's like bad romance and 911 had a baby

GerMonsterNotta 1,350
In some way, maybe - I feel like what we are going to hear will be in general smashed mirror image of her previous back catalogue, yet evolved and elevated… but I don’t think we’ll be able to match each new song 1:1 to an old song… I think it will be more nuanced and a blended body of work… but let’s see!! However I’ll be surprised if there’s any DWUW direct throwback or reference, given all the controversy and her erasing this prev. collab..

Now that you are saying this abt DWUW, I hope it's not a ref to it hehe (the Xtina version was pretty cool tho) Yeah you're right, I feel like it could be subtle refs not a whole dedication to her previous eras. The broken mirror pieces want to tell a whole new Gaga's story. I'm here to take a break from university homeworks :/
