Omg welcomeee, I hope you have a blast with this rollout! It’s as close as it can get to her early days so it’s indeed the best time to be a new fan because you get to experience some of that energy!

You're so right, thinking about it tbh this is the exact feeling I got when hearing BTW & Paparazzi when I was young. Something brand new n fresh with something that means a lot to me :)

I feel the same way. Way back in 2013, I feared that Gaga's days of massive hits were behind her and then she ended up turning it all around and showed that the cream always rises to the top. But after such an extensive comeback over several albums now, to see DWAS smash like it did and continue to have legs even months after release really was a surprise. But JFAD and Disease flopping brought me back down to earth and I wondered if it was going to revert back to Chromatica again, where she had one big hit and then the rest was all downhill. But DWAS's inclusion on Mayhem, another Grammy win and Abracadabra's improved performance over Disease (though I still don't know why its chart performance isn't matching its TikTok success and how much the public's apparently loving it, not gonna lie) has made me so hopeful again. I'm positive that Mayhem will be the best reviewed album of her career by critics (Chromatica was a 79 and critics like her more now, so she stands a huge chance of bettering that). With Abra set to repeak in the coming weeks, rumours of a massive stadium tour and more singles coming, this could be her best studio album era since BTW and I'm so here for it. I'm appreciating every moment because she's not getting any younger, wants to take a break after this and as we've seen with the careers of other artists, a downfall can occur out of nowhere, just being real. But for now, let the good times roll.

The public is a fickle crowd and I don't suspect Gaga will be getting a warm welcome into new acting spaces unless her next film is a hit. Like it or not, casting directors aren't gonna be interested in what is becoming a bit of a box office poison curse, her fault or not. There's plenty of actresses who have suffered the same fate despite dozens upon dozens of incredible performances. At what point does the name Lady Gaga, something that used to be a selling point for films like House of Gucci and A Star Is Born (two films none of y'all would care about if it weren't for Ga, same for the GP), become something everyone cringes at, knowing it's an indicator of a flop? One more strike and she's out, I fear.

I fear this too but the good thing is, the overwhelming consensus is that the acting in JFAD wasn't the problem, it was the best part. I'm hoping the Razzies don't undeservedly award her for that, we'll find out in just 4 days. I'm sure a lot of directors will sympathise with her and Joaquin that they got sold on big promises that didn't come to fruition and it wasn't their fault. I don't think this is the end for her Oscar hopes, I think the academy's just making her work for it. Notice how despite Ariana's performance getting praised and getting nominated across the board, she's not actually winning anything. The film industry is always sceptical of singing superstars wanting to branch out into acting just to pad out their resume and add Oscar on their path to EGOT and just to win respect and bragging rights. The longer Gaga stays around in movies and shows that the money and awards isn't her motivation for acting, she'll win that respect and she'll win a deserving Oscar. I'm just glad that JFAD's failure didn't cause Gaga to become a joke and affect her music performance. And she still has an Oscar, just not an acting one. I'd like to think that she just has to experience true failure in a movie before she can taste sweet success. I'm hopeful that the ideal movie vehicle will come for her when she's on her break and has more time to devote to that stuff.
