Kayi 1,852
The lyrics are : "I’ve become a notorious being Find my clone, she’s asleep on the ceiling" And Gaga's explanation for InStyle interview : "It’s this idea that we all, in a way, have our real selves and then our clone version that we project to the world.” I feel like the projected version of her is this girl : And this woman who knows exactly who she is, but y'all still see her as the girl she used to be : The clone is on a ceiling because : 1 : She can't come back, she belongs to another era who's forever gone. 2 : It seems like both the real Gaga and the image of herself are in same "prison". She's stuck with her clone, bc ppl want to see the clone back. Also some ppl think that "Hollywood’s a ghost town" is in this song and... It would make sense if my theories are right. The ghost are the public images, it also implies that they fade. And I love how it can fit to the current Hollywood context of many celebrities being exposed for their vices. Some ppl also think that "Choke on the fame and hope it gets you high" is a part of the song. I feel like this would be absolutely genius if "Perfect Celebrity" makes the satire of her early pop songs about fame. I'm here to take a break from university homeworks :/ 1 3

Obobo 2,770
I thought that lyric was a reference the bedroom ceiling scene in American Beauty. I have a feeling the song plays on the same concepts of the "true self" and the "public self" from that movie. I used AI for this next part because I was too lazy to type lmao: In 'American Beauty,' the protagonist, Lester, becomes fixated on his daughter's cheerleader friend, seeing her through a distorted, idealized lens. He constructs a fantasy of her as a sexually charged figure, based on fleeting, superficial glimpses, particularly the cheerleading scene. Lester's perception is entirely a projection. He has minimal genuine interaction with the girl. She, in a way, also plays along with this fantasy. When they attempt to act on this constructed image, the illusion shatters, revealing her true innocence. This dynamic mirrors Gaga's point: the public, like Lester, often forms an idealized, often inaccurate, image of celebrities based on curated performances and appearances. 'American Beauty' extends this idea to all its characters, showing how everyone projects a 'normal' facade, concealing their complex, often troubled, inner selves. Just as Lester's fantasy obscured the reality of the cheerleader, the 'perfect celebrity' image can obscure the true person behind it. Therefore, when Lady Gaga was talking about the public falling in love with a version of her, I instantly thought of the movie 'American Beauty.'" huttont 5,084
I’ve had a theory that this album is actually going to be The Fame 2.0. The content will regard her relationship with fame and how it’s changed throughout her career, showcasing elements and a variety of sounds from everything she knows. I could be totally wrong but I feel like her career and life has been chaos and mayhem and this is going to be her portrayal.
