They probably played with it a lot, it was meant to be than wasn’t than was again. Also, vinyls take a long time to make, many months actually so they probably included it by August/September, BEFORE it was the ultimate smash hit it became so I don’t wanna hear about it!

Vinyl run time is estimated to be at most 3 months these days for big artists.

So if you factor in any Xmas shut down, and assume Mayhem got delayed a week from this coming Friday.

They'd have made the final tracklist decisions by the end of November at the very latest.

I don't know if it's been mentioned already, but when she was in Paris she posted the picture indicating that Disease was going to be the first single from LG7.
I'm pretty sure the inclusion of DwaS on Mayhem is due to their popularity and a sales strategy, but I personally don't see anything wrong with it.

Here’s my theory on what I think might be the case.

Gaga referred to Die With A Smile’s inclusion on Mayhem as ‘the missing piece of the puzzle’. To me, that sounds as if Mayhem and its (standard) tracklist were already finished by the time Gaga got called up by Bruno to feature on DWAS, but wasn’t completely satisfied with Blade Of Grass being the album closer, and whilst finishing DWAS realized it would make a great album closer instead and a better one than Blade Of Grass, and therefore asked her label if it could be added to the album as the final track last minute, to which the label agreed due to its success.

It clearly wasn't meant for MAYHEM, the aesthetic the sound it's completely different.

But it's fine by me really, not a big deal. I'll just keep the single version separately and delete it from the actual album

Don't know why some of you found it necessary to laugh at what I've said previously.

Is it so wrong of me to want to know if our fave has a #1 career-defining single on her new album? Isn't it normal to remember how many hits your fave has per album, so you can work out how many albums its been since their last #1 and whatnot? I want to know if this single is officially considered part of her album or not so we can say what its chart tally is. Interscope should be making it abundantly clear they want it to be considered the lead single and run ads saying "featuring the hit singles, DWAS..." I'm just frustrated that everyone falls into line when other artists add on a hit single to their otherwise completed album and they don't see it as cheating or inauthenticity at all. Gaga always gets the short end of the stick, even when she's successful. It just isn't fair.

Competition is way harder nowadays unlike the previous years since everyone can access everybody else’s music via streaming apps. Hence having a streaming hit is very logical move, as she previously said it’s the hidden missing (smash hit ) piece in Mayhem.  

It's logical from a monetary perspective. It's an abysmal choice from an artistic perspective.

I was never a fan of Gaga 'cause she charted well.

I'd rather her strip DWAS from Mayhem and see the album struggle to crack the top 100 than keep it on top with a decision that's completely devoid of integrity and honesty.

Why not just throw Shallow on there too? And ARUTW? How about Poker Face? Triple your streams while you're at it, all of those songs have just as much to do with Mayhem as DWAS does so she might as well, yeah?

I don't understand how so many of you don't get why this is such a thorn in some fans' sides  I understand why many of you aren't bothered, it's fine, but y'all have to do some thinking from others' perspectives sometimes.
