The weird thing about some of you is the insistence of something that you are not privy to. Like, these conversations about how a song will release is something between Gaga and her people. We have no idea how it went down. But even if Gaga herself explains what happened specifically behind the scenes, you will continue to insist she is lying if it doesn’t fit your preconceived narrative. Very obstinate and strange.

It'll be hilarious when the album comes out for all of these DWAS is the lead single and always meant for the album people if it sounds like it was just tacked on because let's be real - it was. I hope it fits on the album, but I think it's okay to acknowledge this was purely a business decision to inflate the albums numbers

Delusion? Sis, the song was written during the Mayhem sessions. It is totally possible that it was always intended for the album. Simple as that.

It is also totally possible the song was meant to be a stand alone. There’s still 10+ tracks we haven’t even HEARD from Mayhem. I’ll be the first to bet there will be other soft rock/70s-inspired sounds on there.

Genuinely curious: why are you inclined to believe it was always intended to be on the album when everything she’s said publicly contradicts that? Also don’t you see that it’s a little delulu to fabricate a conspiracy theory that she was afraid her fans would’ve been upset about it being the lead single, so she lied about it not being the lead single, then retroactively made it the lead? Gaga very directly said it was a stand alone single. Makes no sense to lie about that. She would of said it because it really originally really was a stand alone project lol

The context is clearly that they're talking about MAYHEM. We're past Harlequin. And what else is Andrew Watt gonna talk about? A completely scrapped album that no one knows about? LG8 or LG9? Girl, DWAS is on MAYHEM—the album where he's one of the main producers. What other album is he talking about??

It was an "event single" -  a collab between artists - that because it smashed went on their albums, like "Bang Bang" (which was not really marketed as part of My Everything but went on the record) or "The Boy Is Mine" (which went on Monica's record and became the title track even though it came out months earlier).

Why is this fanbase ALWAYS up Gaga's ass about something?

Jesus christ, the music industry is a business, and she's selling a record. She co-wrote and produced a song with Bruno during the production of Mayhem and she decided to add it to the album. Just like every other song that she wrote and produced during the production of Mayhem. Additionally, every album she's made has had a piano-driven ballad on it, regardless of the album's tone/vibe.

Why do you guys find an issue EVERY album cycle? It's annoying as f*ck
