German elections are today!

German voters are heading to polls today to elect a new parliament that will determine if the country stays a democracy or becomes a fascist dictatorship.

Polling stations open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (0700 GMT-1700 GMT). Germans can also vote by postal ballot.

Vote-counting will begin immediately after voting ends, and the general picture of the outcome should be clear very quickly thanks to exit polls. A final official result is expected early Monday.

Conservative leader and front-runner Friedrich Merz has said he hopes to form a new government by mid-April if he wins.

Yes AFD, straight up nazis who want to leave the UE and become allies with Russia. Their supporters are out there on tiktok calling for publics execution of persons of colors, immigrants & LGBTQ+ as soon as the right/extreme right wins which is likely.

AFD isn't leading polls however Musk showed up via webcam to some of their rallies so somehow I can totally picture them winning.

Another EU country falling in the hands of extreme right nazis, very scary times.

While I disagree with the picture you are painting, especially comparing them to the real nazis in 1933, the AfD wouldn't be that strong today if the desires of many voters didn't keep getting ignored for so long.

Part of the truth is, that many people came to Germany out of countries where LGBT people can face imprisonment or death. It is our responsibility to keep them out of Germany and our western society, especially to protect those, who are fleeing from there.

If you only let conservatives lead this discussion, you shouldn't be surprised in the end.

That enemy you see in people that come from countries where LGBT people are persecuted have exactly the same mindset as the people from extreme right. Extreme right in western society would/will persecute LGBT people in the blink of an eye if they can, and that's on top of all the other awful things that extreme right usually does: dictatorship, attacks on ALL minorities, propaganda and corruption and make everyone's life more miserable.

While I agree that immigrants from any countries to any countries should play by the rules of the countries they immigrate too, extreme right will do nothing but create more fear and propaganda. They blame EVERYTHING on immigration and only talk about immigration because they have nothing else to offer. Historically it's always the same ****.

Luckily there are no parties currently running who want to do all of these things and we can focus on the islamists and other extremists threatening our civilization.

I also think there are many topics which need to be looked after in Germany and I also dislike the heavy focus on migration. I just think it's not surprising that the AfD is riding the horse which nets them the most voters as that topic was largely ignored by leftist parties. It IS a huge problem after all
