Is someone who wants Israel to still exist as a country considered a Zionist? I feel this term gets thrown around in an all-encompassing way If you believe Israel has a religious and historic right to take over other peoples land, and justify anything they do because of that, you are a Zionist. But if you support the existence of a already established country and its people because they already exist, you are not a Zionist. There is a difference between someone who feels entitled about America taking of Native Americans land, and someone that acknowledges Americas bad past, while supporting the existence of America today. But yeah people call everyone a Zionist today and its used losely.. Edited February 23 by faysalaaa

People can love Israel without being called zionists, gaga can love Israel but it doesn't make her a zionist.. end of the day, she's still an American. What 7th October, the genocide is Palestine and Lebanon, what the war in Ukraine, every recent tragedy taught me that western people are f*cking cruel, they see all these tragedies as a sick hunger games for their own amusement. I always fought back and hated when Jews told me to stop using the Zionist word because they consider it a slur! I continued using it because I used it correctly, but honestly, after seeing all the effective misuse of the word as a weapon to attack normal good people, im more careful about it. Have you seen the insane attack on the H3H3 podcast that they are Zionists just for being born Jewish?! Edited February 23 by faysalaaa

You think this is a behaviour exclusive to western people? Cause it's not. It doesn't make it less bad but humans will always behave like this. 1

Main thing to me is It‘s bit odd esp since she was soooo vocal against a usa democrat president Obama! That was wild when she did that! Quite punk rock.. But hey its her life! I think maybe because it was such a long time ago people forget her speech she did against Obama! That was honestly wild! Then ofc the Mtv awards too. Wearing a Palestine pin is pretty chill compared to her screaming at a president Free Palestine 🍉

Wearing a Palestine pin is pretty chill compared to her screaming at a president Her activist status has really fallen off tbh. People in this thread who say things like "she's just a celebrity" forget that she was pretty instrumental in getting a DADT repeal off the ground and into the senate while the Democrats had a super majority and could actually overturn it. She worked with Biden for years on the Violence Against Women act and sexual assault. Even the covid benefit did some good despite being incredibly cheesy and tone deaf in places. It makes it all the more shocking that she was nearly entirely silent when everything she ever stood for was at risk last year. She always used to use her platform for the greater good but now it's just music and acting with the occasional platitude while receiving an award. I'm so disgruntled 💅Too cute to be this overworked and underf*cked💅

You need to understand that people cant always be activists, its extremely exhausting and hard on your mental health. And Gaga is in a stage in her life where she learned how to take care of herself and mental health, she cant be a young rebel forever. She played a huge role in LGBTQ+ rights and continues to do so, but she cant fight for every cause.
Obobo 3,033
I feel like if you're a Gaga fan you would know her opinion. She's a hippy at heart and said evil is like a snake that likes to divide us and make us fight each other (she said that in the interview/keynote with the Dalai Lama). She's smart enough and not chronically online to know there's a lot of nuance to things like war and making a statement would be irrelevant. Let's be real this war and many other wars have gone on for decades upon decades and a pop star putting a tweet or wearing a pin does nothing of actual value. Her making a statement would just divide people further.
