— Chromeo. Chromeo did two of my favorite remixes of all time, one for Lorde and one for Donna Summer, and I feel like they bring something fresh to these songs without losing the signature thing that makes it sound like a Lorde or Donna song… Similarly, they could help bring something new to Gaga's sound without totally obscuring that quintessential Gaga thing like some other producers (*cough* Mark Ronson *cough*) have in the past.

 

 

— Nile Rodgers. Their collaboration on "I Want Your Love" is still my favorite cover by Gaga. Also, Nile gave Christina Aguilera her best song since "Bionic" era with their collaboration on 2016's "Telepathy."

 

— Self Esteem (Rebecca Lucy Taylor) & Johan Hugo. Self Esteem is a great queer pop musician who produces and writes her own stuff, often collaborating with Johan Hugo.  I feel like a less well known, young, European collaborator like Self Esteem could help Gaga have a new world of influences, language, and references to draw from — kinda like the way working with William Orbit expanded Madonna's vision and sound palette && reinvigorated her work with a sense of excitement again, like she felt interested in what she was doing.

 

 

 

Sky Ferreira & Jorge Elbrecht  — Look, I know we've been waiting for MASOCHISM for 15 years now. But with last year's "LEASH," Sky Ferreira proved she could deliver great songs on time when she's working for someone else. And these songs aren't just great, they are meticulously produced to within an inch of their life. If Gaga ever wanted to do a electronic rock / Neon Pop music, I can't imagine a better team than Sky & Elbrecht to help her achieve a sound that is catchy while still being an abrasive, aggressive full out assault on listeners' ears… Elbrecht also co-produced the fabulous "Don't Forget," as well as some of the OUTSTANDING "Masochism" leaked songs that have yet to be released (including ALL MY LOVERS DIE.)
