Oriane 20,135
Listening to Bloodpop for Chromatica's direction. How does a beautiful song like 1000 doves get turned into a bland soulless song like that She had a few songs that were great in acoustic but the studio version didn't work well, but this one takes the cake. Ziggy 10,904
Not releasing a live album. Period. I’d love if she had made a semi conceptual one ala Homecoming. Tight, essential. She’s a great live act but there’s barely any released proof of that from her

Reality 74,006
Y'all, this is a thread about her career decisions, not your personal taste The only correct answer is Joker. It was a catastrophic flop, I don't know if some of y'all understand that It got the WORST CinemaScore out of any comic book movie ever. It was a sequel to a billion-dollar film that was well-received, interesting, and thought-provoking—the latter two are up for debate, but I loved that first movie. That film was supposed to be huge for her and she was legitimately being considered as a front-runner for the Oscars. And not to mention that it was a box office disaster too Some of y'all saying stuff like "her doing nothing for ARTPOP's 10th anniversary," like, are we serious? From a fan perspective it would've been cool to see something, but that doesn't register at all with the general public. Joker 2's floppage transcended the fandom. ᗰᗩYᕼEᗰ || 🦇👹🖤 5

I think the reason I give her a pass on her film work (very much including Joker) is because so much of how a film turns out is totally out of her control. Films are almost always a director's medium. They rule the day and the set and the direction of the entire movie. An actor, even one as famous as Gaga, can only demand or change so much unless they're also a producer, and even then it's usually up to the director in the end. Especially a director as established as Todd Phillips. Gaga is, more or less, along for the ride when it comes to her film projects. It's all on Todd Phillips. But if we're talking about her worst career move over the last 10 years, it's her decision to join the project imo. I don't blame her for doing so—I was incredibly optimistic about the film—but the aftermath was awful. ᗰᗩYᕼEᗰ || 🦇👹🖤

Agreed with this, I watched Joker with my fiance and he knows more about the Joker batman stufff what not right? He instantly said "This movie sucked" right as it ended and I was sad to agree. It was awesome in some aspects but genuinely the story was.... interesting. I was telling another close friend of ours about it who's a HUGE batman fan and she was appalled at some of the decisions in the movie. Gaga is a great actress imo but there are some things that just don't work out FREE MY MIND, ARTPOP.
Noir 15,801 Posted yesterday at 12:24 AM Share Posted yesterday at 12:24 AM Joker 2 but then we got Harlequin which I adore still, maybe not fully promoting Chromatica or dodgy single choices (Perfect Illusion, Stupid Love)

I think that when anybody mentions joker is more about criticizing Todd Phillips and his decisions, a lot of amazing scenes that were in the trailers were just cut in the final product, just imagine all the amazing scenes we got robbed because he felt the need to reduce her screen time for whatever reason. Plus, she was the one doing the MOST for the movie with media appearances, interviews, an ALBUM and Todd/Joaquin (mostly) nowhere to be seen. I don't particularly care for the awards/acclaim, but I also think we'd be having a different conversation if so many Gaga/Lee scenes didn't get cut because she was the best part of the movie by a looong shot. Chromanne 787 Posted yesterday at 12:45 AM Share Posted yesterday at 12:45 AM (edited) If I had a time machine, I've would've travelled back in time to tell Gaga that Joker 2 project is a scam and don't be a part of it. As much as I love Perfect Illusion and Stupid Love, they aren't really good single choices, let alone lead singles. Joanne's lead single should've been A-YO/Diamond Heart (Dancing In Circles is the best song in Joanne, but I think it's not appropriate to release it as a single from an tribute album for her deceased aunt ) Chromatica's lead single should've been Alice/Free Woman and its music video should be shot with a professional camera. That doesn't make it a bad decision. In the past she made bad decisions to push herself too much and paid the price with her health. That's the worst for me. But a queen learns and that's good. Anyway, I sometimes worry about her, she's such a treasure. And so many of my heroes are gone.
