I mean, Nicki has always been camp, and has a predominantly gay audience. Sure, she is not an activist for gay rights, and she does not seem to give a quarter of a **** about gay people, but they were talking about the music. 

I don't even like Nicki, but if being a "queer icon" is just making campy pop music that is influential in queer spaces, Nicki does qualify, as problematic as she is :iamfair:
