Whos gonna view it and how many people? TV ads are pretty damn huge promo spot, even if it's just a snippet of the song. Blinding Lights had TV ad promo back then, which is probably the reason so many were familiar with the song here. Such exposure kinda defines hits. Lots of songs have become hits almost solely off of their inclusion in recurrent commercials by prominent brands. March Madness is a US college basketball tournament that garners immense attention and is a hugely promoted TV event.
