The setlist was really surprising (in a good way) and the backing screens were wonderful. I was SHOOK when I heard Beautiful, Dirty, Rich, Dance In The Dark, The Fame, Aura, Government Hooker and Scheisse again.

I think most people found the choreo horrendous, the outfits and hair too. Enigma (the SiMuLatiOn, and a huge part of the show) looked cheap compared to the beautiful Petga, and Gaga’s voice was REALLY tired at the time. And other than a couple (rare) performances of Shallow (outside of Enigma) she completely ignored the highly loved ASIB soundtrack. I guess that didn’t help. And then she said she was pregnant with LG6 and kept performing without debuting new music for months and months. And while we were waiting for it, she launched Haus Labs, which I think didn’t help either cause at this point, she was in a serious popularity crisis with the fans. Like, more serious than ever before (and ever after).

On the other hand, the fans had no expectations of new music during the Jazz & Piano shows, and the show was beautiful visually so I guess that’s why it was more popular. It still took some time for it to become as popular as it was at the end of the residency last year. Gaga unexpectedly started teasing her new eras there (pink hair, black and white hair), seemed more comfortable than at Enigma and eventually, her voice got much better in 2023.

Thank you for opening the lore book and transporting me back in time for a second. Remembering how things felt back then and how everyone treated her. How I was enjoying everything she was doing but missed the 'old Gaga' and secretly wanted to see her one last time. It makes me feel so grateful for the amazing era we are in now. I forgot how it felt at the time when she did ASIB and was obsessed with Jazz, kinda rejecting pop, and the Enigma show just didn't quite hit the mark. It felt at the time like she had 'grown up' and rejected her past self and work. I remember trying very hard to accept that, come to terms with this being the new her, and just be grateful that she was still around at all. Now we have Disease and Abracadabra, possibly her best music video in a decade. The 'old Gaga' feel but still fresh Also it's doing super well and gaining huge steams and everyone seems to be loving it which is just a bonus. . She's let her guard down and is being silly and fun again like the Hot Ones interview and SNL50. And best of all it doesn't feel forced and she seems legitimately happier than ever! we are so lucky

The lesson is, we need to enjoy this era and the ride we're on right now, because we know she's going to settle down afterwards to finally start a family. She's giving us such a gift and we have to appreciate it so we don't look back and think 'I wish we knew what we had at the time. Wasn't Mayhem era fun'

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.
