but nah she's out here staying in the public consciousness and playing to so many different demographics with these other performances (All I Need is Time, California Dreaming, Hold My Hand), doing Hot Ones, the Super Bowl commerical, & now this SNL promo. it's strategic too.

An older song would have been better, I agree. Even Die With a Smile would have been lovely.

But I disagree, this is not doing promo. None of this directly serves her upcoming projects. It's a decent way to clean up her image, but not for the album itself. It's different. I think fans deserve a break for thinking she would use these moments to start promoting more heavily the album given the timelines.

like I said, she could decide to be completely absent from everything until March 7th and not make any public appearances.

I'm being 100% serious when I say I think that was extremely funny and I loved it and I'm totally happy she did that over Abra  (not that I don't love Abra)

I just love when she's funny  And we've got a lot of good stuff coming up this year, I like when she does something that meets a specific moment in time

If she were completely absent that would still be weird and not very effective? Not sure why that would make a difference. Disappearing completely = not promoting the album directly. Its just that if she's doing appearances we get to see her out and about, but never to promote the record. Most might even say these appearances could go unnoticed. 

Her making an appearance is promo for her image, not for the album or song. Two things can be true at once.
