Attacking billionaires wont solve the issue, we should attack the system that allows billionaires to legally take advantage of the system. Its only natural for a billionaire to legally play the game of the system to win. Billionaires also exist in other countries, but they are not allowed to do what billionaires in America do because they have regulations

This is why Occupy Wall Street failed, as they protested the banks instead of the white house, and made excuses for the government and the president. And the president that allowed this to happen is still beloved by everyone in America and is seen as a good moral person.

I agree with you. We should be campaigning to change the system so that billionaires can’t take advantage of us. Attacking billionaires individually might make us feel good but ultimately it means nothing if no new laws are passed

I think what he said is gross to be honest.

You can disagree with people being able to accumulate that much money without calling for them to be put down, that's disgusting.

Her net worth is estimated to be around 300 million dollars, more than what most of us will ever make on our lives, but yet very little in comparison to the likes of Bezzos, Zuckerberg, Musk etc. so I say we give her a pass :fan:

According to Google, Michael's net worth is $600 million.. so when they get married they will be 90% billionaires 😭 maybe we do need to eat them

We can keep a few of them. Like court jesters!

Would love a human centipede moment with Trump, Elon, and Vance. We can teach them tricks to show off when our foreign allies come to visit ️

No one should be THAT rich

Yes maybe you create a really successful business. But even if your "self made". No one is truly self made

For a successful business you need educated people (education supported by society and its taxes), you need infrastructure (built by society) etc

So yes, even if your (self made) you still owe society because society provided a platform for you to build on

Its a perspective ive changed my mind on the last few years. No one deserves so much for their contributions to society that they should be THAT wealthy because those individuals also required society to be succeassful like that

Being a little wealthy i think is fine. Once u start to get to exuberant levels tho, i think we need a system somehow to chip away at their wealth so its not just hoarded

Sure it isn't cute, but neither is the situation. It's grotesque. They all see how much financial inequality there is and they know how much they can help by simply giving away a marginal amount of their wealth. They won't. Kindness and reason isn't gonna do anything. They retreat into their vast carelessness and find ways to cheat the system out of more money than they're able to spend in a lifetime. They're actively harming the world. Things are getting desperate for just about everyone not blessed with being born into generational wealth or connections.

If words, reason, empathy aren't changing anything... what will? And why do you feel compelled to go easy on them?

Hoarding that much wealth while so many people suffer from poverty and literally starve is disgusting and completely inhuman. They've let greed strip them of their humanity. I will never shed a tear over a suffering a-hole billionaire like Musk, Bezos, etc.

edit: Not to mention the INSANE amount of exploitation they've utilized to get where they are. If you're sympathizing with billionaires in any way, you're seriously misguided.

I don't agree with this part. If you only party when you're young, of course, you can't do any job that pays you well and will suffer from the consequence.

So let me ask you this. It sounds like you're arguing that minimum wage shouldn't be a livable wage. And you don't explicitly say that. But you argue around jobs that pay well. So how would we go about minimum wage jobs? Should we close them until 4pm every day when high schoolers get out of school? I assume you never go out to eat before 4pm. Not for breakfast or lunch. Or the grocery store. And we'll close them again at 10pm? So restaurants and grocery stores have a 6 hour day? I'm sure that would go over well for business owners and the GDP.

The alternative is that college students do it. But considering yearly tuition and fees is around $60,000 how would they live? Would they work 80 hour weeks? Or do we subsidize education?

Single mothers? What about them? We don't want social programs but we want single mothers to make it out in life? We strip them of sex education, we take away their right to decide, we saddle them with children, we allow the fathers to walk away or even die due to our garbage healthcare system, and then we tell them they party too much?

Disgusting. Absolutely disgusting. We can carry 100s of people across the sky at 500mph. We can make computers generate "Art". We can cure cancer and analyze every single cell within us. But we allow men, women, and children to lay out in the street and starve. And then get onto a pop culture website to act condescendingly towards them because they "party too much" and deserve to suffer. Absolutely fvcking disgusting.

@faysalaaa I agree as well

Ive come to really despise capitalism (as it exists now) over the years and Ive definitely started leaning a lot more left on most economic issues over the years

Even so, I dont hate billionaires as individuals (provided they arent ultra crappy human beings). There are billionaires like Elon Musk but then theres Billionaires like Bill Gates or Selena Gomez.  Not at all remotely the same type of people. Billionaires are human beings with personalities that vary and they arent a carbon copy of eachother.

In this capitalist every man for himself kind of world everyone wants to be successful and will whatchout for their own self interests. And its human nature to not wanna let go of what youve accumulated once u have it so as much as we criticize they dont share more or give away, the truth is most ppl who think theyd be more generous if they had more end up not being so if they manage to aquire the wealth.

Billionaires shouldnt exists but then you cant blame or hate all the individuals who are rich. The system has to be that main target.

If I was a billionaire I think id be ok with taxes going up and understand why its necessairy but then id want my peers to have to do it too not just me. I wouldnt volunteer to pay more taxes if it wasnt the rule for everyone. U have to make the system more progressive case and point. Thats the main thing

Don’t agree about being “put down like rabid dogs” but agree with everything else he said. Like here in Sydney, so many filthy rich people and cashed up boomers yet the average person is struggling to pay rent IF they find somewhere and buying a house is impossible. So we work everyday just to pay bills and rent, and if you want to be single and live on your own good luck!

Exactly, I don’t hate billionaires either. I hate the current system that allows someone to accumulate such an absurd amount of money when there is still so much poverty and suffering in the world

And the reality is, even if they are "self made", i think an idea that needs to be nornalized is that no one is truly self made entirely

Even if you started a business from scratch... you not only needed labor to scale up, but the critical education your workforce had was supported by society and taxpayers

The infrastructure that supports businesses big and small like power grid, water systems, roads to transport goods, computer systems etc were built again by society and a lot of it by tax payers as well

Thats a way of looking at it that i think needs to be emphasized more. Some ultra wealthy are entitled AF thinking they dont owe anybody anything (and some of them have the nerve for calling ordinairy struggling people entitled)...

But they are wrong, they do owe it to society to share more of their wealth and success because without the rest of society, they could not have built their little empire themselves! :koons:

Totally agree. There's enough to go around so everybody can live well. It's because of them we can't. The world could be a place where people help each other succeed and collaborate on projects to make life better for everyone. But because of them we are divided. It's all purposeful. They are evil incarnate. I wish everybody would open their ****ing eyes, stop fighting and judging each other, and turn their attention to the real enemies so we could rise up and make change

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.
