If you're a REAL BOY don't play with dolls...  :triggered:

One of the most misfortunate Gaga lyricsl I'm sure that was not her intention, the ambiguous writing will always bug me in that sense.

I think it’s a pinnochio reference not a gender one 😂

Dumb lyrics, but a sonic bop.

Ashnikko remix actually elevates the song, especially the chorus

This is the superior version:legend:

Plastic dik was the chromatica version of monster for me from TFM. The fact that she didn't play it at the TOUR WAS BLASPHEMY

ironically i find the song way more interesting lyrically than abracadabra... here there are themes of exterior beauty and interior pain that are hinted at. sure, they could potentially be a bit more overt in their descriptions but no offense to gaga her lyrics have rarely been the most compelling part of her music tbh... like can anyone (who isn't a diehard fan) even really remember what alejandro or bloody mary are actually supposed to be about?...

That’s an odd interpretation of those lyrics. She’s saying don’t play with ME or treat me like a play thing, not that boys shouldn’t play with dolls. It doesn’t even sound ambiguous to me.

I think for plastic doll the issue is it’s a very obvious metaphor and performed as obviously as you’d think. So you kind of expect it to maybe do more and it doesn’t. Abracadabra on the other hand doesn’t really purport to be about anything than setting the dance floor on fire, slay! It’s just a dance track. Judging them by the standards they set themselves I think is what changes reception

honey it says "don't play with ME, I am not your plastic doll", it sounds ambiguous if you previously hear her saying if you're a real boy don't do that (play with dolls).  Again, i know it was the idea of the song because Gaga would never portrait a message like that, but lyrically it could be more fortunate.
