Noam Zioni 1,177
For the past years I’ve been dealing with certain mood swings, sometimes feeling less cheerful and happy, not feeling the will to go on for no apparent reason. As coping mechanism, I made up a character to symbolize the “thing” that makes me feel that way when I’m down, calling in a “bug”. Following the release of Disease, with Gaga speaking about the internal fight with herself, battling with this dark side, and then with Abracadabra coming to light, with more positive message, I feel so happy having Gaga, my favorite artist that means so much to me, putting my thoughts and feelings into reality with Mayhen acting as the “bug” for me. She is truly one of the greatest in portraying her thoughts into images, she is one of a kind. Thank you, Gaga ❤️
eifulien 2,466
She is ESSENTIAL! I'm so incredibly happy that she's found a way back to her creativity. I've been thinking about her journey since she released Abracadabra and tbh my respect for her grew even more, as if that was even possible. Like, so many of us have had struggles in our lives and what unites us is that tuning to her music and message kinda makes things lighter, right? And to see her get lost in the storm of her fame and past trauma was quite disheartening. She changed quite a lot post-ARTPOP for reasons we've discussed many times and are all valid. I'll never forget my first listen to Chromatica, though. It was a real bummer for me cause I realised that album came out of her becoming a former shell of herself, she basically implied while talking about the music-making process that she didn't want to be, well, Gaga. And now, this 180-turn, is such a moment for us. I admire her work on herself, on her trauma and the ghosts that haunted her for years. It's an incredible achievement for her to go back to a style of music and presentation in her career that came with lots of hatred and pain. It means she's sorted out what was good and what was bad and has chosen the light and the love that were born out of her pain. Love you, Gaga!
