Decodekid 28,155
The fact every time we enter a new era we fear it will not have a hit, and then it ends up happening any way, Gaga has never failed commercially we just doubt too much Long Live Gretchen 6

Stupid Love was the latest & closest to being one, and that says a lot Edited February 7 by gummybear

I didn’t care for Bad Romance or Shallow the first time I heard them and they became her biggest hits… now the same thing is happening to Abracadabra. I love it though. So glad to be wrong I’m not a huge Shallow fan and maybe it’s because of all the screeching duets of it at karaoke from drunk people lol Like a poem said by a lady in red

Soundtrack songs don't just automatically become hits due to films. "Bloody Mary" also had some success which no one expected and even "Million Reasons" is slowly approaching 1B on streaming. BM was a bit of a weird situation. Its not something she released and smashed. It randomly got picked up over a decade later from a viral moment. So while it was great for her, i wouldnt exactly say it fits the bill And MR was definitely no flop but it did take a lot of promo, discount on itunes on week of superbowl to make it go top 10 for 1 week and it took many years for commulative streams to hit 1B. So id still consider it more of a moderate to decent hit Guess it depends how you view it. As far as standard smash solo hits off an album without anything else attached to it, I still stand by 12 years Remember this was in the context of her pumping out a smash (solo) hit on the charts. Gaga has always had longevity and relevance, its not surprising that old content over the years builds up respectable figures In that sense its been 12 years and thats what makes it so exciting

StrawberryBlond 14,819
As great at this is, I don't want to talk too soon. I remember when I overestimated her chart performances abilities during BTW, AP and even Joanne to an extent. But since ASIB, we've had at least one big hit every era and she's been in a great place - popular, but not so over-saturated to the point where everyone's sick of her. I'm just letting things play out and always predicting slightly below what I'd logically deduce might happen from one week to the next. That way, I'm always pleasantly surprised. With every low point the last year has given us, there's been something amazing to make up for it: JFAD flopped and was panned...but DWAS smashed and became one of her biggest ever hits. Disease flopped...but she got a Grammy for DWAS, a live performance and her new MV debuted on the show. JFAD missed out on awards and got nominated for Razzies...but Abracadabra just got released and is already look set to be a big hit. You can't keep a good girl down! 5 hours ago, Bonkers said: Where's Adelle been lately? Normally her or Katy Perry come along to mess this up. Adele rn: She couldn't have picked a better time to start a new era. Adele's on one of her huge breaks, Katy's flopping, Beyonce's between eras, Taylor might put out a re-release this year but definitely not a new album. Sabrina's just putting out a re-release, Cardi's still got no sign of putting out any album, neither is Chappell. Dua, Ariana, Billie, Olivia and Doja are probably not going to be around for another 2 years or so. As for males, they're all pretty much between eras as well. So, unless some newcomer enters to blow everyone away, Gaga's sound. Even if that happens, she's supported enough that she can withstand it. It's great not to have her overshadowed like she usually is.

Agree with the rest of ur comment but regarding this part, thats not something i even get concerned about at all Becoming over exposed and everywhere to the point everyone is sick of you (like what happened to Gaga by 2011) is actually really hard to achieve and more of a fluke than a common risk or threat Usually being famous and successful is something you battle for. Overshooting Fame to the point its overheating is a rare phenomenom that happens once in a blue moon to the biggest stars Gaga experienced that once in her career after an abnormally high level of fame and popularity for 3 years straight... But im not sure at this point in her career she could achieve that even if she tried. On top of that her breaks between eras have been longer than her first 3 or 4 albums Over exposure is not something im concerned about. It takes more than 2 or 3 smash hits after being lowkey for years to become over exposed. Early in her career she had 8 big hits in a row and non stop media coverage. Totally different situation Edited February 7 by Economy

llemesm 1,510
It's doing well on Spotify, it's being used a lot on TikTok, the music video is doing really well (already +20 million views). People are LOVING this song. And what I hear everytime is: "She is BACK". I feel like people generally (not only gay ones or little monsters) were waiting for this kind of gaga music.
