Azealia Banks dropped from festival in Amsterdam

Milkshake Festival has cancelled Azealia Banks' performance at the festival in late July, following widespread criticism.
 

"This is an update to inform you that Azealia Banks will not be performing at Milkshake Festival 2025. It is clear to us that we made a mistake and that we have overlooked essential information. We sincerely apologize for this. In correction of our previous update: this statement reflects only our standpoints as an organization, not that of Azealia Banks’ management.

The safety of our visitors, our team, the artists, and crew will always be our main priority. Furthermore, we will assess our initial social media response for learnings and improvements.
We know that this decision will also affect a lot of Milkshake visitors who were looking forward to the show. We understand that, and we want to assure you we have taken as many viewpoints as possible into account.

We care deeply about our audience and that we will remain committed to our mission of spreading love and unity.

It hurts with Azaelia though because she is such a profound artist. I like to try and overlook the human behind the music with everyone I listen to and try not to keep up with their personal views, controversies etc. But she has a way of pushing it into her audience face like she’s often getting talk more because of what she’s said than what she’s made. But it is sad to see her opportunities diminish because she’s such a talent.

cancelling her or any artist last minute especially when she’s actually been pretty quiet lately makes them look more ignorant and messy than her. extremely unprofessional. maybe next time have some spine and principles BEFORE you book an artist?

Hard disagree. 
She voted Trump, wich shows her stance hasn’t changed. I was one of the people complaining to the organizers.
