The mastering engineer was first nominated at the 54th annual awards in 2012, receiving two nods in the album of the year category for Rihanna's "Loud" and Lady Gaga's "Born This Way." Collaborators (songwriters/features artists) are required to appear on at least 20% of the album's playing time, instead of 0%. This is why Lana didn't get a Grammy when Midnights won. StrawberryBlond 15,061 Posted February 4, 2025 Share Posted February 4, 2025 This is wild, I noticed he didn't win anything last night but I had no idea he'd never won before, could've sworn he won something for his second album at least. Considering he was up for a whopping 8 nominations, he should've statistically won something, even working with a mammoth stars across 2 genres like Morgan and Taylor wasn't enough. I really don't know why the academy sometimes do this, really humiliating an artist in one night like that. They must've known they didn't have the support to win in most of these categories, so why did he even get nominated? He was just one away from tying with the all-time record snub of Paul McCartney in 1966 when he lost 9 nominations in one night.
