Finally getting to watch this more closely since when it aired on tv there was too much commotion around me.

It’s soo good!! Gaga is truly in her element. Every video and song from this album has been a 10/10 for me so far.

I get such a huge Madonna influence in the chorus + bridge. Even her last white outfit feels very Madonna to me.

I immediately thought of Sky Fits Heaven. Could also be due to the classic Acid bass line

On first listen, it's a near perfect dark pop song, with a near perfect dark pop song video.

Agree about the song but that video is PERFECT period

And when you say my name, like white horses on the waves, I think it feels the same, as an ocean in my veins.

I really can’t believe this is real. Gaga has this spark about her right now that I haven’t seen in years, and it’s showing through every impeccable piece of art she has put out in the last year. I am so blessed and grateful to be able to experience her artistry and to have her as the soundtrack of my life. This song and video are so different from everything I was expecting in the best way possible like OH MY GODDDDD?!?! No one is doing it like her, especially at damn near 20 years into their careers.

The video seemed so familiar and now I know why. It's so self-referential and clever. There are references to:

-Alejandro with the tones and the dancers + the lady in red overlooking the dancers

-Born This Way with the dancer shapes and camera view from above (+ the focus on choreography and movement as expression)

-the Fame commercial with the latex and her makeup

-getting picked up similarly to as she did at the beginning of G.U.Y before she was submerged in the pool

-the all-white like in Bad Romance

-the spark and smoke like in Applause

-and of course... Lady Mayhem from Disease.

This video seems to say: I'm a chaos of many things and I use my art to ward off the darkness. The word after all, by definition: mid 16th century (as a mystical word used as a charm to ward off illness).

The fact that she also played a snippet in Paris is clever as well. The song is so euro-dance pop, Paris is also famous for being a romantic city with goth undertones (fight me on this, I can argue on this statement).

I'm in so much awe and I never thought I would re-live or re-experience the same buzz I did from when BTW came out. I love this woman.

Guys this is the first time in a LONG time where she finally embraces the dark aesthetic into her music again. Be aware that after ARTPOP she faced major career-threatening trauma which took years to rebuild confidence in her and now finally is the time where she comes back to her roots that are dark, chaotic and full of rage. Please don't be sad if a song isn't evoking the same initial feeling to you compared to the experience you had from listening to the dark songs from back in the day. It's her first time now again too and we should be celebrating her for tapping into those fields of music again that she was at one point in her career heavily punished for by a lot of people. If we want more from that side of her let's be aware of the journey she went through and just how amazing it is that she now feels comfortable again to tap into those roots.

Really loving the line "In her tongue she said, death or love tonight." It's like a judgement sentence in the lady in red's court being sung, and of course followed by the hardest, the MSG part of the song.

Wow I absolutely love it. She really brought back the Gaga chanting!

The instrumental is so William Orbit coded I love it, so late 90's / early 2000's

Why do I feel like the ending is setting us up for another video. Like the ultimate face-off between the two Gagas.

I have not listened to a song like this since Judas leaked.  I will never forget that day and will never forget this one.
