Why don’t we still have official track reviews with ratings?

Thought same thing. The lyrics are really well put together. They are not nonsensical, which Is fine but lets Say they are more professional. They do feel cinematic as It feels like a story. It sort of reminded me of puccini's Turandot and the 3 riddles. If you lose you get decapitated by the Icy queen

I ****ing love the lyrics. They become even more interesting if you add a Witchcraft lens.

She’s telling a story of someone who is at a crossroads in life and decides to take matters into their own hand by casting spells and owning their energetic output (which creates reality). This figure is being warned by a cautionary character (The Lady in Red), like a spirit guide.

“Pay the toll to the angels”, talks about respecting spiritual entities.

“Keep your eye on the distance, when the devil turns around”, all spell work requires focus. If you check your reality often, it breaks spells and manifestations.

“Don't waste time on a feeling, use your passion, no return”. Again its like this Lady in Red is telling you if you want to change your life using magic, you have to commit. And the biggest, most important part of spells is the intention behind it.

it all culminates with the chorus “Abracadabra, amor oh na na” its literally a chant.

To me this song is about hitting a point in your life where you need to face reality, understand you have power over it, but respect that power and energy, because once you have awareness that you are God and owner of your life, there is no going back, for better or worse, and she paints this idea through witchcraft, a widely known practice where it is believed you can shape reality based on intent and will.

So the rumor of sampling Siouxsie was obviously fake right? Or anyone hear similarities with any of their song?

She's sampling Spellbound in two lines, "like a poem said by a lady in red" and "with a haunting dance like you're both in a trance". She's also paying tribute to the song lyrically with "trance" and "spell"

sorry if this has already been said 10000 times but I just realised that the rumours about it sampling 'spellbound' actually were true, I didn't realise when I first listened to it but the more I've listened I've realised I recognise it!

the lyrics from spellbound:

"from the cradle bars, comes a beckoning voice, it sends you spinning, you have no choice"

abracadabra:

"like a poem said by a lady in red, you hear the last few words of your life, with a haunting dance now you're both in a trance, its time to cast your spell on the night"

Does anyone else get ‘Poor Things’ vibes from the break before the last chorus? The way she jumps around is just like Emma Stone. Loooove it!!
