OliviaRodrigoStan 4,444
This is literally my new telenovela . For those not in the know, the recap is: 🩷 Justin Baldoni purchased the rights for Colleen Hoover's "It Ends With Us" book, and apparently all future adaptations of her work. ALLEGEDLY Baldoni's intention was to focus the movie on the domestic violence themes of the book. 🖤 Blake Lively joined the project as the main actress, but quickly wanted creative control over the film. Blake wanted for the film to be more commercially appealing, and ALLEGEDLY didn't actually read the book. 🩷 Ryan Reynolds ALLEGEDLY tried to buy the rights of the film from Baldoni, but Baldoni declined. 🖤 Blake threatens to abandon the project with little to no time to recast her, forcing production to accept her demands of higher creative input. 🩷 The film debuts successfully, but the audience becomes increasingly irritated by Lively's alleged "tone-deaf" promotion of the movie, completely ignoring the domestic violence aspect of the story, while plugging her alcohol brand instead. 🖤 With the audience's increased distaste for the actress, past interviews resurface, highlighting Lively's perceived "problematic" behaviour and public statements. 🩷 In an attempt to twist the narrative in her favor, Lively accuses Justin Baldoni of sexual harrassment, insisting the negative perception of her persona is an orchestrated smear campaign by Baldoni's team. 🖤 Baldoni makes public a number of texts and audios that appear to debunk Lively's claims, and seemingly paint her as someone difficult to work with. In one of the texts, Lively warns Baldoni that she, like Game of Thrones' Khalesi, has her "own dragons, for better or for worse", in reference to Taylor Swift and Ryan Reynolds, that have her back. 🩷 Baldoni is suing for A LOT of money, and although the industry has dropped him from 3 big projects already, the public discourse seems to be on his favor. The current narrative seems to be that Lively and Reynolds joined the project in bad faith, hoping to control the film and obtain the rights from the let go. This is a complete and absolute mess HEART OF EVER-FROST 2

Following Lively’s complaint and call for safety boundaries on set, all parties agreed that Baldoni and Heath would stop doing those things and would make “no more descriptions of their own genitalia” to Lively. The problem is that Blake has been proven to grossly misrepresent most of her accusations already, so at least for me, it is very hard to believe the pörnography claim. 🩷 She claimed Baldoni "body shamed her", and would "make inappropriate comments about her body", and what happened in reality was that Baldoni asked their personal trainer about Blake's weight, because he had to lift her in a scene, and he has back issues, so he wanted to make sure he could do the scene without affecting his health. Lively is notoriously insecure about her body, as per own admission, and it isn't the first time that she misinterprets a comment as "ill intentioned" because of this paranoia of hers. The actual footage from the film shows Lively laughing at Baldoni's face, saying their kiss scene was "too nosy" because they were touching noses constantly, and told him to get a nose job. Not only she misrepresented the situation, but there's proof of her actually body shaming him . 🖤 She said that Baldoni would send inappropriate audios to her at 2AM in the morning, making comments about her breasts, which is also an intentional misrepresentation of what happened. Baldoni made the audio public, it is a cringey audio of him walking on eggshells to please her, praising her to the heavens to make sure she doesn't get upset and leaves the project as she was threatening to do, and it was a response to a novel-long text that she sent him at 1AM, with not very subtle threats and lots of creative demands. The comment about her "breasts" wasn't sexual in any capacity, he said: "You're probably sleeping with your family now, with a kid under your boob, sorry", odd choice of words, I would agree, but to me it clearly was adressing the fact that she was likely busy being a mom/wife, and not listening to his audio. Again, deliberately ignoring context to misrepresent the situation, and present it as something much more predatory than it actually was. 🩷 She said the comments he made regarding her weight, had no justification, because they were made in regards of a scene that "is not even in the movie", implying he was just commenting on her body for no reason. The scene was in the movie, because it was in the book, and the reason why it was no longer in the film, is because she demanded for it to be removed. Again, completely ignoring the context to paint a false narrative. Those are three instances where she, intentionally, misrepresented an event. To me, personally, that makes it harder to believe any of her claim. Based on the texts and audios I've seen, she does come across as someone insufferable, and Baldoni rather than a predator, looks more like a doormat trying to please his boss. I don't think Blake Lively is necessarily LYING about everything she's saying, but I do think she is deliberately stretching the definition of "sexual harrassment" to present her interactions with Baldoni as more damning than they actually were. Alfonso 1,433
I don't know how people seem to be surprised about Blake and Ryan; this isn't the first time people have had bad experiences with them (And they do feel like they want to have the power over everything). Also, Blake seemed to have issues with her prior movie with Anna Kendrick, so she has some history.
LateToCult 40,150
What’s really interesting is that Ryan (according to Blake’s own words) worked on the script of the film (possibly during the writers strike). Sony was unaware of this and had no contract with him. She may have just killed any future work with a major studio because who tf is gonna want to work with someone that opens them up to a labor lawsuit? They clearly thought they could scare Justin and shut him up, but they're at the f*ck around and find out part now and these receipts are career ending relax, if Kesha v. Luke is evidence of anything, it takes a lot more for someone's career to end. Deadpool and Serena will be fine. If anything Baldoni's career is the one that has taken the biggest hit from the whole situation imo.
salty like sodium 1,088
3 hours ago, Taylucifer said: This whole media circus seems designed to defame, discredit and attack Blake and distract the public from how Justin allegedly sexually harassed her or am I missing something? I literally do not care if Blake is a 'terrible person' or how Ryan and Blake are coming off. I have not seen anything proving Justin did not harass Blake (I have not seen everything) and at the end of the day nobody deserves to have that happen to them regardless of how you personally feel about them If you're going to have an opinion the least you can do is actually study the material... This whole "media circus" is actually just the guy's defence from being accused publicly in front of the world of being a "sexual predator". As a reminder, this man has a wife, kids, a family, a career, and a business. Ultimately these are extremely serious accusations and currently there has actually been no evidence provided to prove that he is guilty aside from a memo that Blake Lively sent them. They have counterpointed and debunked a lot of those accusations with "the other side" of the story and in many cases those counterpoints do hold up. A key example is when Lively accused him of "licking her neck and saying "it smells soooo good"". The footage from that take was leaked and it shows they were just dancing and joking around. He apologised for "getting beard all over you" and she apologised for "getting spraytan all over you". He said "it smells good" as a joke, which by his tone was clearly not an attempt to sexually harass her. The reason people are saying Blake is a "terrible person" and that Ryan and Blake are coming off negatively is because of such counterpoints, that really blow to pieces their entire accusation and make it hard to really figure out whether she is saying the truth on her other allegations or whether they are all exaggerated and dressed up versions of events that actually were not as described. Do you think people deserve to be falsely accused of being sexual predators regardless of how you personally feel about them? The coin works both ways. Another bombshell revelation was that Blake requested that Justin refrain from discussing experiences of "non-consensual sexual encounters" with her. It was revealed today in the texts (buried on page 150 or something) that he had a non-consensual experience (as a victim) when he was young and that that was his reason for making the movie. If this is true, and he shared it with her, and she used that to accuse him of predatory behavior, it truly is messed up.

This is such an excellent summary! Thanks. I would like to add the thing I mentioned above about the "it smells good" comment, where she made it sound like he was inappropriately commenting on her body odour when he made that statement as a joke because she was joking about her spray tan getting all over him, which is another example where the truth was stretched to fit the narrative. Honestly I'm all for devil's advocate but when you need to bend the truth this much to fit your story it's usually because your story doesn't have much bones on it. It's a bit ironic she's being as creative with the lawsuit as she was with the script tbh. EDIT: also for the boob comment there are text messages allegedly from Blake talking about assholes and suppositories, among other things. I think that was perhaps just the verbal dynamic they had established as 'friends' before things turned for the worse, but I might be wrong.
