Delulu Rogers 7,047
It's incredibly unnecessary to do another tribute for LA when she closed out the FireAid concert 2 days ago. The whole concert was created specifically for that reason. Also, I don't see why it's a problem if she performs DWAS. The song it #1 and is still all over radio, including radio stations in California. It's a love song and not some controversial take on natural disasters. People will be fine. That said, that song does not need any more exposure and it would be so so tiring to see her in a gown singing at the piano for the millionth time. I don't understand why she can't perform Disease + the new single from Mayhem. Give the fans an iconic pop grammy performance that hasn't been done in over a decade. Such a wasted opportunity.

StrawberryBlond 14,267
I've never actually watched any Grammy in memoriam performances before so don't know what this means. Looking back at previous ceremonies, each performer sings a cover of a song that the deceased artist sang or a song that suits the occasion? Because Gaga already did a tribute to LA at the designated concert designed to raise money for it, she's done her bit. DWAS is totally appropriate to play, it's currently at #1 and is the song she and Bruno are nominated for. At the risk of sounding insensitive, people die everyday. People die in fires everyday. Just because it happened in California, where a lot of celebrities live, doesn't make it any more necessary or meaningful for any songs that bring up dying or the end of the world to be banned from being played. They sure didn't do that when international disasters were happening. It bothers me they were even included in the memoriam at all. That slot is usually for artists who are legacy acts and/or not nominated that night. If you're currently on top of the charts and are nominated, you deserve your own solo performance slot that's all about you. For Gaga to miss out on the chance of a big performance all about her on the most major night in music to help promote her upcoming album...why do they only give precedence to newer acts when it comes to this stuff? There are some acts who are brand new and haven't even got much success but have as solo slot. Gaga has to get a proper piece of promotion for her next big single somewhere. The last time she had an album to promote, there was a pandemic happening, but there's no excuse not to put her out there this time. My only hope that it will happen is that Bruno is there alongside Gaga. That must surely mean they're doing DWAS. Even if it's something we've already seen, it keeps the song popular and raises the profile of her upcoming album. I don't care what anyone says, the message totally fits and is sensitive. It's basically saying "in this time of devastation and uncertainty, do not fret over material possessions, hold on close to those you love because that's all that truly matters." I'm sure a lot of survivors of the fires understand and hold that sentiment.
HermesG 1,237
As we debate if they will perform the song or not, they already met eachother and rewrite the lyrics believe me. She already did it with AlwaysRTW and she didn't change song..
Alfonso 1,433
I really hope we get DWAS. Why can't they use the opportunity to also promote disease/lg7..

Murakami27 1,652
I know what, maybe Hold My Hand could be a song she could sing. The lyrics are pretty apt for the situation. Being there to hold someone’s hand when they need it.
