We are getting a performance, with Bruno, so it wont be your average “Gaga is behind the piano singing a random song” tribute. We dont even know yet what they are gonna sing. They also could not have performed at all, is that what you wanted. Be happy they are performing, and that they were announced last only shows how big they are, the Grammys do that every year. And for “PR”, many people sang songs even at the Fire Aid that contained the word fire, or were about surviving, or whatever. Are those people cancelled? Is Katy cancelled after literally singing “dancing through the fire”. No. So stop the whining. 
 

We are getting a performance, possible Grammy wins, maybe one but possibly multiple looks, and the premiere of the new single and MV! If you dont appreciate that, shut up, but dont come here with all your negativity

Apparently they were asked to perform DWAS long before the LA fire, which they (at that time) accepted, so the slot and the performers were a given.

this isn't her management picking the songs she performs, it's her... nobody is telling her to NOT perform DWAS or Disease... infact, they probably want her to badly but she calls the shots

she could have the most perfect team in the world, she would still opt to perform in a tribute in this situation

2008 gaga was somebody trying to get famous and NEEDED chart success, 2025 gaga does what makes her happy

Blaming Gaga's management for every decision is getting tiresome. Gaga is not a puppet without her own opinions or ideas.

It was clearly either Gaga & Bruno's or the Grammy committee's idea to make a tribute.

Many people don't realize that the Grammy Awards are in LA, that a significant portion of the music industry and the nominees live in Los Angeles, and that Gaga and Bruno have homes near the fires.

This is actually affecting their lives in some way, not just an interesting news from the world.

What do you think is going through Gaga's mind as she drives into Los Angeles and passes the burned down Malibu beach front houses?

Is it not conceivable that her entire life and career isn't totally lead by sales and money? Just a thought

I'm a bit sad this early-era Grammys performance isn't an introduction to the new era in the same was Born This Way vessel performance was an introduction to the world of BTW - BUT I think we do need to remember Gaga just simply isn't the same person she was at 22.

 

Her fans (us) will enjoy the music regardless. If she wants world domination again, she can do it by releasing another album of A Star Is Born hits and collaborating with the Adeles and Brunos of the world. She's just not motivated by being number one anymore and that's ok. The fires are clearly an issue close to home for her and she's doing what she feels is right. Personally I'm just glad we get to see her after all and get another red carpet look and all that fun stuff
