this was the perfect opportunity to perform die with a smile to make it known why they deserve to win, and also boost sales to help get it a 5th week at number one. what a waste i swear sometimes its like gagas team wants her to fail.

gaga needs new management, someone versed in marketing/PR, whoever in her team who told her not to perform the song she has thats topping the hot 100 rn is literally incompetent - DWAS could pass BTW for her longest running number one easily and shes choosing to perform some songs that arent hers or songs ppl havent heard of for what reason? 2008 gaga wouldve exploited this and performed DWAS and also wouldve done an acoustic or shortened version of a new mayhem song, then released the single this monday or friday....... like come on girl do you want to win or nah?

It’s not that deep, bro. It’s a love song. And guess what, every radio station in Southern California is still spinning DWAS constantly. 
At the risk of sounding callous, frankly very few people died for a disaster for this scale (only 28). Literally more people die in car accidents in the US every single day.

I guess they still want to make sure the fire remains top of people’s mind so they don’t forget and move on to the next news cycle. But I also dont understand why another tribute performance is needed after the FireAid concert. But I anticipate more tributes in other awards shows like at the Oscars. 
 

Performing DWAS as a tribute would be stupid. No one is wanting to Die With A Smile from this fire. There is no way to twist it and make it work. 
 

However, as long as they’re just performing the song to celebrate its success, with not attachment to the fire, I think it’s fine. It’s just about nuances and context.
