Not only is this a great achievement but it's also her first single since BTW to have multiple weeks at #1 on the Hot 100. It is worth noting that BTW is also her longest-running #1, at 6 weeks, so we're just 2 more weeks away from equalling it at least. Never would I have thought it stood a chance at such a peak into the new year. Even if she de-thrones herself, there's every chance it could make a possible resurgence at this rate. What a way to announce the new album, this is the first time she's ever had a #1 single at the time of an album announcement. Iconic queen.

I love how Gaga failing to launch an error worked this time. Joker and Disease both flopped, despite Disease being loved by fans and critics/Azaelia Banks. But she had a sleeper hit that she essentially co-opted from Bruno, which was totally separate from the album launch. Now it’s dominating, compile that with a Grammy win, she’s got all the good press she needs going into an album roll out.
