The ear condom bit is basically just saying, “If you don’t like it, don’t listen,” but, by extension, if listening to the music is penetrative in and of itself, the difference between those who do and don’t listen with the “ear condom” would be whether they actually *hear* her or not. And it was a different time for LGBTQIA+ folk, I mean gay marriage was still under debate in the United States. People thought trans people didn't exist. That time was so hard... And when Gaga said "I just speak in future tense", I did not believe her. I did not believe the world could change that way. And here we are, people finally listening.
